Fuck! The last episode on season 4 is MISSING the last few minutes on my downloaded copy!!!! I got up to the part where Omar leaves the van full of money in a garage and Carcetti is walking into his meeting with the governor. It cuts off as he walks in the governor's door. Goddammit!
So....Anyone know where I can find the full episode? I just need the ending to season 4!

Ha! I found it and watched everything. I'm all caught up and ready to watch on HBO tomorrow.
That was kinda sad about Bodie. I can't believe McNulty's become a crazy drunk fuck again. And what he's doing with the whole "serial killer" bs?? Unbelievable. Dammit.
And I'm still holding out hope for Bubbles. He's one of the few street characters that's survived all 5 seasons so far. I'd love for him to come through and have a happy ending.
And omg Omar. Omar, Omar, Omar. Almost got away clean wherever he ran away to (some caribbean island?) I just know he's gonna get pulled back into Baltimore with this Butchie getting killed mess. I hope he fucks Marlo up personally in the end.

Not reading the thread to avoid spoilers, but I started watching season 1, and WOW! I'm not a fan of cop shows at all, but this is in a whole other fucking league.
I love everything, the rawness, the complexity, the complicated politics-good stuff. Off to watch another episode.

I was sad about Bodie, it took me a minute to be ok with that.. you kinda grew up with him, and his talk with McNulty summed up everything. It was sad that he didn't know that he was still in Baltimore city because of how nice the area was... The serial killer shit is stupid, because if money is alloted to Baltimore Police to solve the murders...wouldn't it just go to these alleged serial killings?!? Oh Marlo need his shit twisted!! Wait until you see the shit he do this week, OMG!!

I accidently downloaded the first season last week, I was trying to download something else and it was mislabeled. I'd never even heard of the show before but now I'm already on Season 5. I think this is the first show ever where I like(d) all the characters....

It's so weird to like characters who do such horrible things...
Spoiler
Like in Season 1, Stringer Bell and Bodie's involvement in Wallace's murder. I loved Wallace. But I still liked them although it took me a while to forgive them. And I guess they got their comeuppance in the end.
And I wanted to adopt Du'quon from Season 4. There's something heart-breaking about that child.

I haven't watched it for a while, but even though he's drunk, is McNulty still at hot piece of ass?

Oh, yeah McNulty's still hot. And drunk. And fucking random hussies he picks up in bars. And going absolutely fucking bonkers because the job is sucking him in again. (I can't believe what he and Lester are up to! Lester! Of all people...) Oh well. McNulty had a good run with that Beadie woman, cause she sure as hell is gonna dump him.

I am so depressed now that it's over. My heart has been heavy anyway ever since the Omar shocker. I mean, how could that baby take him down, and for what? You know Marlow didn't appreciate a damn thing.
Anyone care to discuss what happened with Marlow, speaking of him? I thought his ending seemed really stunted, like the writers gave up thinking of a creative, appropriate ending for him. He just knocked out some random kid on some corner, in what? An attempt to build back up his drug empire by taking back his corner? Or did he just devolve into the only thing he knew and felt comfortable, the violent thug life as opposed to becoming the next semi-legitimate Stringer Bell type? Punk ass couldn't cut it intellectually is what I think.
And Duquan...why...he was the one with the most potential out of all those kids. And the circle still repeated itself. My husband even had nightmares about his particularly tragic ending.
I just got good and drunk before watching, I knew that it would depress me and it did. I admire the writers for being willing to show life as it is, but I hate that "the way it is," is so damn bleak.

The cycle continues...You got your new Bubbles, your new Omar, your new Police snitch, Governor, Mayor and your new kingpins. Marlo, didn't have the intelligence of a Stringer Bell, or the business savvy. He was and always will be a thug. The Wire wasn't afraid to go where the news media or regular television are afraid to venture in..they don't want to put names to faces of people who get lost among the drug trade. I think that's what makes this so depressing, because you know you can find stories from the Wire in every inner city in America.
