    This.

I mean, I like Independence Day. It's as tacky as fuck and completely ridiculous.... but it's a good action film. But sequels??? NOW???? WTF?!

All actors, despite their lust for critical butt kissing for their acting 'talents,' deep down inside know that without box office hits to their resume, their career is dead in the water.

So movies like ID4 are only 'insurance' for Will Smith.

I bet Randy Quaid wishes he paid that hotel bill.

Yeah, the window is pretty much closed now...let it go Will, and give us time to snark on your rumored remake of Hitchcock's "Suspicion".

Did 'Independence Day' even end in such a way to leave it open for a sequel? Its been too many years since Ive seen it. I know 'District 9', the newer rendition of it IMHO, could have a sequel if it wanted.

Please don't let this remake happen. I still cringe when I think of the Psycho remake with Vince Vaughn and Anne Heche. It was so bad it should've been a comedy.

We cannot stop him, kingcap. He's a fast-moving ball of hair-texturizer and destruction.

True, Bitter. But I can tolerate him moreso than the ball of weave and destruction who shall remain nameless.

People should just leave Hitchcock films alone. You can't equal or surpass them so don't try. Although the show 'Psych' on the USA Network had a Hitchcock-themed finale which was really cool.

I love Psych and am sorry I missed that one.

Actually, former SNL star Jane Curtin did a remake of 'Suspicion' on PBS back in the 70s or 80s, produced by her husband. It was pretty wretched, and she didn't even attempt an English accent. Her American accent was 'explained away'. Nothing is more offensive to me than a lazy-ass actor who won't do an accent.

It was a close call, but at least the crisis was averted. We didn't have to go to Defcon Five.

If you get a chance, check it out. Psych did it in a really clever way. The killer was casting everyone as archetypes from Hitchcock films. Really cool.

I just saw Jane Curtin in 'I Love You, Man' where she played Paul Rudd's mother. She's actually aging pretty well.

And, yeah, I hate when actors refuse to do an accent (Halle Berry in X-Men 2 & 3) or do a shitty accent (Halle Berry in X-men).

    Bump. I am bored.
More horrible accents (or lack thereof)
    • Robert Redford in Out of Africa. His character, Sir Finch-Hatton, was British, but Redford made him sound like Gary Cooper.
    • Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. An American actor attempts a Cockney accent that was beyond wretched. And I like Dick.
