Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I just realized I've spent the past ten years of my life mostly seeing kids movies. Damn, we need to get a sitter!
I've also been legally downloading and watching old stuff from http://www.archive.org/details/movies . There are old movies and shorts, old newsreels, cartoons of the 1930's etc. Watch the levees being breached in 1927(and boy doesn't that look familiar). See just how endemic racism was and yet there were surprisingly early efforts being made to reverse attitudes. Revel in the pro nuclear propaganda. Snicker at visions of the future in old ads. See Superman fight the "Japs" during WW2. There are interesting films too, if you have the bandwidth. So, in the past few days I have watched Nosferatu(1922) and X Marks the Spot(1942) There's modern stuff in there too, but I haven't got there yet.
Having fun!

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I just watched both Crash and Big Fish for projects. I absolutely loved Big Fish, but I practically worship the ground Tim Burton walks on. I've never seen a Burton movie I didn't love. In general, I liked Crash. It wasn't the amazing, deep, ground-breaking movie some of my friends hyped it to be, but it kept me entertained, and that's what is most important to me. It was also easy to do the project since it was for intercultural relationships, LOTS of storylines to pick from on that one (we picked the one with Sandra Bullock and her housekeeper).
Recent movies NOT for school:
Harry Potter (GoF)- great, disappointed about some storylines disappearing, but I understand. My dad will probably buy it, so I can just borrow from him if I wanna see special features or watch it again. Doubt I will since I never bothered to with Prisoner of Azkaban.
Rent - LOVED, I'm a fanatic of the musical and I LOVE this movie, I cried for most of it b/c I knew all the storylines already. I would see certain couples being all happy and alive, but then know their future and get sad. I'm a nerd, it's OK. I will DEFINITELY buy this DVD when it comes out. First day it's on the shelves!
Serenity-I still consider it recent, but it was something like 2 months ago already. I thought it was fantastic, but I'm a bit fangirly about this too since I liked the TV show. Just found out its coming out on video and would definitely consider buying it, depends on the special features.

NoDayButToday, I haven't had milk spray out of my nostrils in years until I saw your signature! I must know the context of that quote. I plan to slip that into casual conversation.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
It's from SNL last night. Dane Cook was the host and in one of the sketches he was wearing this really expensive 100% wool sweater so that he could impress this girl, but it was like 65 degrees out. Well, the girl was late to the party and he had a total flip out over the heat and itchiness, so he was rolling around on the floor "fighting" the sweater and that was one of the things he yelled. I about died laughing.

Just watched Skeleton Key last night. I love supernatural thrillers, just because there could be an element of truth to them, as opposed to some guy in a hockey mask that dies eighteen different ways and still comes back.
Also watched The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. I always forget how incredibly talented Bill Murray is until I watch his movies. I loved Klaus (Willem Dafoe).

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I just watched Batman Begins on Friday and I was super impressed. It was soo scary too! Way better than the last few Batmans they've put out. Plus Christian Bale is HOT!
