    Le Mepris with Brigitte Bardot.
    I love Jean-Luc Godard's movies.

I just watched THE best movie I have seen in years. The Departed. Everyone else has probably already seen it, but boy, was I impressed.

Leo = absolute highlight of the movie, I'm officially a fan now. He acted up a storm. Why didn't he get an Oscar? (Again?)
Matt Damon = excellent, very creative acting
    Vera Farmiga = excellent
Jack Nicholson = at his very best
    Martin Sheen = excellent

All the actors were fucking amazing. Hell, even Marky Mark was fantastic. And I would marry Alec Baldwin just for this movie.

That was one hell of a movie. I was hypnotized from the first minute to the last. Perfect plot/script, perfect directing. Just the right amount of stylistic devices, no showing off. Lots of heart and emotion and lots of humor at the same time.

I loved it. Every ten years a movie like this is made. God bless Martin Scorcese!
One of my favorites right there. I love it. I agree with what you said, all the actors were wonderful and the script was good. I may stand alone, but I thought the ending was good. It was something I wasn't expecting for some reason.

It is a festival. And yes

I thought it was funny but poor Aella hated it. It was "The Opening of Misty Beethoven", 70s porn with (nonsensical) plot loosely based on the Pygmalion myth. I must say, though it was refreshing to see pubic hair in porn for a change, I got a muff overdose. I almost considered joining the bald pussy brigade.

Big Trouble In Little China with Kurt Russell and Kim Cattrall. Stupid movie, bad acting and dialogue, but I like watching it for some reason.

Chilly, I LOVED The Departed. I added it to my DVD collection as soon as it came out. Great movie.

So I've seen a few things lately.

American Gangster - so freaking good!!!! This movie kicked ass. Denzel is so amazing, the story is engaging, Russell Crowe was great in this part, just good all around. Highly recommend. Chilly baby if you like The Departed, check out this movie.

The Simpsons Movie - pretty good, pleasantly surprised. I know this will make a few people scream at me, but I've never been a big fan of The Simpsons, husband is. We watched it together and it was pretty damn funny. You don't necessarily have to be a huge fan of the series to enjoy the movie.

Death Sentence - okay this is one of those movies that is SO unrealistic that it loses all credibility. I enjoy mindless entertainment as much as the next person, but when the whole movie is "what the hell? Why did he do that? Why didn't he do this? That would never happen. Are these even real cops? What?" It kind of blows the whole movie for me. The first half of the movie was fairly good, theres a pretty kickass chase sequence maybe halfway through, and then after that it just blew. Its like the writers got messed up halfway through and decided to just write whatever so they could pack it in. I almost didn't make it through the whole movie. At the end, I just kind of went "uhhh....okay?" And my husband was like, "thanks" because I was the one who wanted to see it.

^Ahaha January, whenever I choose the movie, I feel pressure. I want it to be good so the other person likes it.

Laurel Canyon. I've found a movie worse than The Black Dahlia, I can't believe it. It was crap. And the ending? TERRIBLE. I wouldn't even call it an ending. I hate movies that just end and nothing seems to be answered. Grr.

Haha, surprising you mentioned that. I also pressured my husband into seeing The Black Dahlia when it first came out. Worst movie ever, I really can't believe there is a movie worse than that. Still haven't lived that one down. I'm like you too, I used to be indecisive at first about choosing movies because you really want the other person to like it - but now, its kind of like "suck it, we're watching this." Awwww....love.
