"Scarface". I had never really seen the beginning of the movie before, and it was on last night, so I watched it. I have to hand it to Al Pacino - the guy has incredible range. I could not believe that Michael Corleone was in there somewhere.

The other thing I noticed was how many of the main actors were Italian - Pacino, Mastrantonio, Loggia. Even F. Murray Abraham is half Italian (and half Syrian). The only 100% Cuban member of the principal cast is Steven Bauer (born in Havana; real name "Esteban Echevarria").

it was trying to tell a story about a grandfather (costner) losing his wife and going for custody of his half black granddaughter. Unfortunately they chose
to give the details of the baby momma's death etc throughout the movie when they made little sense. it was hard to buy in to Costners character since
he was a drunk. They made a feeble attempt to show him trying to quit, but it failed.

Don't get me wrong, i watched the movie all of the way through, i just thought it could have been done so much better.

House on Haunted Hill -- the Vincent Price classic. Love(d) him.

Spotlight. Woah. Well-done and pretty infuriating, as it brings home the scope of the Catholic church abuse cover-up.

Champions -- about the dogs rescued from Michael Vick. Happy endings, but get ready to bawl your eyes out watching these sweet doggies who have overcome so much.

Julieta. A realistic film from the mother's point of view about loss and grief. Not as depressing as it sounds but thought-provoking.

    Finding Dory

I liked it. I think Finding Nemo was better but this one had some great moments too. Loved the octopus. And there were some very touching scenes too. I could see the kids were not so affected but all the parents were crying.

Fracture (2007) - ryan gosling, anthony hopkins.

    SPOILER:

i thought it was fantastic. a stroke of brilliance on anthony's part but I was SO GLAD ryan found a loophole in anthony's diabolical plan.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. It's been one of my favorite movies since I was a kid. Young Frankenstein will be on the big screen next month and, yes, I've already bought my ticket.

When the DVR is bare, bad things happen. I watched Sharknado 4. Dear Jeebus I didn't think one could be worse than the others but it was.

That's why you should watch! Might actually creep you out!

Snakes on a Plane is about the only movie that really scared me because I hate damn snakes so badly.

    Sully

It was much better than I expected! I ended up with a small fear of flying now, that scene where we see the passengers being told to brace is just too scary. I'm flying next month and I hope I will be over it by then. The film is highly recommended. Tom Hanks was amazing!
