Has anyone seen Stephen King's A Good Marriage yet? I think it was released with that full title, but has since been shortened to A Good Marriage. We have XMBC (a streaming site, with movies that are still in the theatre, DVDs released way before the public gets them, both of them sometimes even on the date of release ... like right now, I'm devouring the current season of Downton Abbey that's playing in the UK; some kind soul uploads the new episode for the US (and other countries, I presume) late every Sunday night ... normally for the US, Downton Abbey doesn't start until Christmas) and it's been available for some time ... I'm not sure if it's still in theaters, but I'm pretty sure it hasn't been released on DVD yet. Normally, I shy away from Stephen King movies (except who hasn't seen The Shining??) because I get really bad nightmares from horror movies, but this movie, to my relief, was definitely more thriller than horror. Anyway, the plot is about a woman with a seemingly perfect, long-term marriage with a seemingly perfect husband who starts to worry that her husband is a serial killer. I really liked it a lot, more than I thought I would. I thought the characters were believable and it moved at a nice pace. Joan Allen plays the wife and she is almost perfect in this role and plays it very really believably. This is one of the best movies (that weren't re-watches) I've seen in a long time.

I've not heard of that flick but Joan Allen's a good actress. Today I saw a hardback of another Stephen King I've not heard of either. Seems like all these King projects are going on and passing me right by.

Last movie I saw was Stoker. (2013) I don't think I've ever seen Nicole Kidman look better. Only 2.5 stars and I'd say that's a good assessment, but it was creepy which I did appreciate. I really liked Matthew Goode in it and Nicole's strange but likable daughter.

^^^ I did see Stoker too and came away with the same feelings ... creepy. I love Nicole Kidman, but I thought all three main characters were just, I don't know, off. It was a weird kind of movie.

ETA: I can't edit my above post because it's been too long, but I spelled the streaming site wrong and wanted to fix it in case others were searching for this site. It's XBMC.

Left Behind. Had no idea that it was a bible based movie, it was offensive. The muslim gets no salvation, no matter how religious, helpful and nice he is (REALLY). Only the ones who believe in Jesus are saved. Not really spoiler alert because this is at the beginning and is what the whole movie is about.
The only reason why I watched it was because Nicolas Cage (he must be really broke) was in it and if the kids didn't find it so hilarious (which the movie isn't suppose to be) I wouldn't have stopped watching it.

Sex Tape, didn't finish it. Very stupid movie.

I agree with Tropic Thunder. I saw it in the theater when it came out. And that scene where Ben Stiller has Steve Coogan's head in his hand and thinks it's fake and starts playing with it -- people were gasping and laughing uproariously at the same time.

Am watching Sleepless in Seattle. Still holds up. I love this movie so much. It pisses me off that Meg Ryan was so successful and decided she needed to f*ck up her face.

Meryl doesn't even try anymore. She just calls Lanvin and asks for curtains with a belt.~Bitter
Can we interest you in Leann Rimes? She has a nice little cadre of fans you'd probably enjoy.~ Pecan Pie

    Sex tape was not good.

That was the scene that was on while I was typing my post. One of my favorite scenes was when then little dictator kid makes him wear that guys false teeth to do Simple Jack.

Begin Again. It was ok. It's predictable. Borders on cliche'. i didn't think the peformances were that strong. Anytime Keira has to laugh it comes out forced and fake. Ruffalo is passable. Adam Levine is awful. The Steve character cracked me up every time he spoke though.

"Seeking a Friend for the End of the World." It kept me interested, but am not sure if I liked it.

An HBO documentary on Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. It was so sad, but also inspiring, told from the POV of the granddaughter they never got to meet.

Olympus Has Fallen. Gerard Butler looked good and lots of stuff blew up. I enjoyed it.

    22 Jump Street....stupid.

Godzilla...okay. Better plot than 22 Jump Street,...kind of.

The Purge 2: Anarchy. I really enjoyed this 2nd installment as much as the first. It is scary to wrap the whole concept around your mind. I would hate to see our world become like these movies.

The Libertine (2006) - Johnny Depp as the Earl of Rochester in the 1660s with a passion for the arts and theater, ferociously devoting his life to drinking, whores, debauchery, etc. He changed the life of one whore by teaching her how to act but never tried to do something for his own life.

It only got 2 stars but I liked seeing Johnny in a such a dramatic role. John Malkovich was his brother, the king who loved him, but was the polar opposite of Johnny.
