Guardians of the Galaxy. Loved it.

I watched Winter's Tale last night. I actually liked it more than I thought I would.

Don't be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood. Exactly as I remember it and interesting to see how slang/culture comes back around.

    Goal! (2005)

Not very believable but entertaining story of a young Mexican immigrant making it as a footballer across the pond. I've seen plenty of sports movies but never one about football so it was fun to watch Features cringeworthy cameos from David Beckham with ladybrows and Zinedine Zidane as themselves. I left the film with a renewal of my crush on Stannis the Mannis Barratheon (he can make me a shadow killer baby anytime!) aka Stephen Dillane who plays the kindly ex footballer who discovers the kid in the US and fights for him to make it and also on Romanian actor Marcel Iures who plays the German coach of the team and wow, he's old enough to be my dad but I wanted some of that:

I guess you know you're old when you start fancying coaches.

^^^ I haven't seen the movie, but I'm definitely giving that summary 4 out of 5 stars.

All That Heaven Allows screening at the Musuem of the Moving Image. I loved it, and I loved seeing an old melodrama on the big screen. Was such a fun way to spend a day.

I made my boys watch 12 years a slave, for historical value and life perspective. Tough movie. It's good, but there are definately cringe worthy parts. A couple times they were in tears.

Guardians of the galaxy. Watched it at a drive in, so I don't think I heard all the jokes. Seemed ok. Not my kind of movie in general.
RELIGION: Treat it like it's your genitalia. Don't show it off in public, and don't shove it down your children's throats.

I own this movie and actually, it is a movie trilogy. There is Goal!, Goal II and Goal III. The story follows this young athlete through his life and career. All are great movies,...but I am a soccer fan, too!

Thanks for the headsup, JadeStar. I'll look them up.

The other film I remember watching during my holiday was called Rose of Death and it was a very low budget and simply terrible horror movie. Some of the acting was too bad to be for real and it wasn't really scary, just funny.

Elaine Stritch - Shoot Me, her documentary. Wonderful, just what you'd expect. Every male actor was so taken by her, Alec, John Turturro, Tracy Morgan. James Gandolfini said had they both been 35 at the same time they would have had a torrid affair that would have ended badly.

Elaine didn't need a desk. Her bed was "Command Central". I wish she had one of those old fashioned French phones with the gold dial. That would have completed the picture.

    little shop of horrors.
i'm not a big fan of musicals but this one i absolutely love. it was the director's cut with the alternate ending where audrey II goes all godzilla and takes over the city. wonderful.
my favourites are still steve martin as the sadistic dentist and bill murray as the masochist patient. genius.
