It was visually stunning, the effects were amazing, but other than that it was just a big blah - they completely ruined the character according to me.
I hated that the character was a wronged woman and that all the blame fell once more on the male character. Apparently it's ok for a man to be the baddie but women have to be good.
So yeah, at some point, for like what, 5 minutes, she gets all evil and stuff, but then it gets very sappy and so déjà vu.
So another movie where the villain is in fact a man, and where the woman embraces her destiny to be a mother. Say no to clichés please !
Ugh lame. Sounds like what they did to the Wicked Witch of the West in "Wicked". She wasn't really Wicked..just misunderstood. Blah, blah, blah..

I just watched "The Normal Heart" on HBO. It was great. Frustrating and heartbreaking at the same time. Matt Bomer is soooo pretty and he did a really great job.

    St Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold (2009)

A seriously awful, I mean AWFUL movie with some girls from boarding school who are solving a mystery. For some reason there were some major British actors in bit parts. The whole thing was wacky but the film failed on all levels. Dunno, maybe I needed to be 12 to enjoy it.

Melancholia - I normally dislike Von Trier's filmmaking but I enjoyed this. I liked that it had an apocalyptic theme that didn't descend into the formulaic tripe that Hollywood trots out for that genre, and the acting was top notch, especially from Charlotte Gainsbourg. Still, there was such a detachment between the two parts and the first half seemed irrelevant by the end. Plus, the opening sequence was so OTT, even by Von Trier's standards.

Sleeping beauty (2011) - slow. Took a long time to get to the point.. finished 20 minutes later by jumping straight to the credits. Underwhelming and disappointing.

Just watched the documentary Muscle Shoals (my cousin lives down there). I was completely blown away by the music history that has been made down in Alabama. If you are a lover of the 60's & 70's R&B & Rock, I highly recommend this movie, on Netflix.

I just saw that too. I don't know if I'll ever go to Sea World again.

We just watched it last week. I definitely don't get the hype on this one. I mean, it was ok, but Best Picture? SMH. No.

22 Jump Street. I liked it WAY better than the first one. I laughed through the entire thing.
