Saw Ghostbusters last night. I love the gals especially Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon but it just wasn't as good as the original but it is worth at least a rental. Loved Chris Hemsworth too. So funny as the mimbo. Was nice to see all the cameos from the originals stars I was just bummed there was no Rick Moranis.

Saw Ghostbusters this weekend, and I thought it was great-just not as good as the originals. It was funny, I would honestly watch all those women in pretty much anything (and Kate McKinnon damn near stole the whole movie). When we were waiting to go into the theater, the previous show had just let out and all these bros came out together talking about how shitty it was, it wasn't funny, they fell asleep, etc. I just don't know. It's not that it doesn't entirely appeal to men, I know quite a few men who saw it this weekend who thought it was funny, but again, not as good as the earlier ones (and one who wrote a click-baity article for the publication he works for declaring it BETTER than the first, which no....lol). It's bringing out so much weirdness in people though.

Double Jeopardy with Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones. I love that movie.

Gas_chick, High Tension. Foreign horror with subtitles, but well worth it.

Yep that one is messed up!!!

Lights Out. It was enjoyable enough for less than 90 minutes.
Star Trek Beyond. I freaking loved it. Can't wait to see it again. The casting of these remakes was just remarkable and they just keep getting better.

    'The Usual Suspects' (1995).

Five criminals are forced to do a heist. But who is the mastermind behind it all? The feds want to know. Excellent performance by Kevin Spacey.

The Purge. Its pretty good for senseless violence. I think I liked the second movie best though.

    Avengers: Age of Ultron

I'm still getting through my epic Marvel rewatch (it was going to be Iron Man but the kid walked in during a torture scene and I had to stop it). I remember that I had been meh about that movie when I first saw it and that hasn't changed. Gads, I'm glad Whedon is not doing any more Avengers movies (I can only hope). This movie was completely tone deaf. I remember it had been a bit off compared to the Winter Soldier and to some extent even the first Avengers. But now seeing it after Civil War it's just sort of stupid. All the characters are Whedon spouting his one liners which work on some but totally don't work on Captain America. There are dramatic scenes and then lighthearted scenes all mixed up and confusing. It is annoying because it could have been a good movie, the special effects were out of this world, direction is impeccable and there are some scenes that are sooooo good like the scene where they are trying to lift the hammer or the scene where Vision does lift the hammer, holy crap, what a freaking amazing scene and of course the scene where Hulk fights the Hulkbuster, truly jaw dropping action. And I liked what Elizabeth Olsen did with Scarlet Witch, she was scary. But in all, I did not enjoy that film, it could have been so much more and wasn't and I mostly blame Whedon.
What if Superman is psychotic and everyone can see that he's Clark Kent but they just play along not to set him off?

    We watched "Creed" last night.
It was alright. Not terrible, but not great. I guess OK sums it up.
