Saw the newest Thor this weekend. Meh. It was ok but really needed more Loki. The love story was watered down and felt very forced. Some of the Avengers references were funny but Thor had no humor about him. I was hoping for better.

I'm going to The Hobbit double feature next Thursday, I'm excited!
Last movie I watched was Black Swan.
    Really good, love Natalie Portman.

We watched Pain and Gain and The Heat over the weekend.

Pain and Gain was meh....I thought it would be better. But it was based off of a true story,...so I guess it was, what it was. It was really amazing how these three idiots tried to pull that shit off. They might have succeed about 75 years ago, before computers, technology, ect.

The Heat was funny in parts,....but I get tired of how "in your face" that Melissa McCarthy is in her movies. It gets old and comes off flat and forced, and not always comical. I think she is trying to be the female version of an angrier Chris Farley.

Detachment with Adrian Brody, Marcia Gay Harden and Momma Fishsticks (Blythe Danner). A character study of an emotionally damaged substitute teacher who only takes short-term assignments because he fears getting too close with his students and co-workers. Really depressing, but well-acted.

saw 'man of steel'. meh. henry cavill is sooooooo pretty but way too stacked/roided up in this. he's huge. i like his body way better on 'the tudors'. amy adams' lois lane is just pointless and has zero chemistry with superman and the rest of the movie is your typical american comic book blockbuster bullshit. i giggled when the bad guys were punished and sent to languish in a black hole in little pods that look like giant black dildos. the space ship that was hidden in that north pole base where elliot stabler first made an appearance looked like a giant oyster/clam and the space ship the bad guys are in at the end looks just like a philippe starck orange juicer:

so yeah, that was the stuff i was thinking about while watching this movie, which tells you how riveting the story is...

Desolation Of Smaug (did the double feature last night in IMAX 3D)
Holy crap, it was epic. Everyone was fantastic in it. Especially my man as Smaug the Dragon.

The Sessions with Helen Hunt. Pretty rough going, but very well-acted and a little sad.

I starts to watch Anchorman and it was so stupid I turned it off after about 15 minutes. Obviously I will not be seeing the sequel.

The Wolverine. Or rather, the Wolverine visits Japan and we get subjected to one cliche after the other. The plot was ludicrous and overall it made for a bad film.

    4/10
What if Superman is psychotic and everyone can see that he's Clark Kent but they just play along not to set him off?
