the new star trek. i didn't see the first one before it either. actually, i don't think i've seen any of the star trek movies or maybe one in the 80s or something. but it was a date and mostly just an excuse to make out.
what i saw of the movie was absolutely terrible. also, the dude playing kirk has more lip injections than kim kardashian. and he's super fugly and made even fuglier by the injected fat upper lip and the tweezed brows. *vomits*

Ha! I see Mo, you're also well acquainted with Little Mermaid... One of the kids came in and wanted to watch a movie with us so that was all of us compromising. We got the short end of the stick TLM's a great movie, but can only be watched so many times before you're ready to kill someone.
Watched Kalifornia last night- that was pretty good but mostly because I love Jewliette Lewis and Vanilla Pitt was still pretty hot back then.

Saw the Great Gatsby a couple of weeks ago. Read the book in high school, didn't remember the story. Tried to read the book again last year but couldn't get past the first chapter. The movie is awesome. A great juxtaposition of modern music in a period piece. It had such a lush ethereal feel to it. Really tragic story though. In the last few minutes I completely hated Daisy.

We live in the boondocks so only see movies on PPV. No theater near by.

I saw Now You See Me ,
It really could have been so much better but it just had too much going on and the plot was annoyingly over complicated . Jessie Eisnberg comes across as such an asshole it was distracting through out the whole movie .

Star Trek Into Darkness. Good movie but it doesn't feel very canon. Looks a lot like a Star Wars movie at this point - I guess that's a selling point for JJ...

I loved that the first JJ Abrams flick deviated from the canon. It was getting so old. In fact, the only thing I disliked about the first one is we have to see Spock again. Really, let's give it a rest

The reactions to this second Abrams are scaring me. That, and the forcing of a typical, scantily clad, blond into the flick really puts me off. I LOVED Zoe Saldana and Uhura and I hear she is marginalized this time around.

    The Buddy Holly Story

I was a bit skeptical going in because, well, Gary Busey as Buddy Holly ... um, really? But holy fuck. Busey did his own singing and played guitar as well. I was actually quite impressed. I had no idea he was so talented.

I love The Buddy Holly Story, aabbcc. I didn't watch it for years because of Gary Busey. He is great in it, lost a huge amount of weight to play Buddy, too.

We went to Fast 6. I loved it, but I have loved all of the movies in the series. (except #3, Tokoyo Drift,...I never did watch it, since the main cast wasn't in it) I hear they are making a 7 as well,...

Iron Man 3. Loved it. I hated Iron Man 2 ... thought it dull with lame action / fight scenes. This one is much, much better action wise. Plot ok, although the bad guy is a little hokey and doesn't follow the comics. RDJ brings the hotness and the funny which is worth the price of admission for me.
