Cabin in the Woods. Pretty unique premise, lots of humor, the acting wasn't bad, and Chris Hemsworth is cute as hell. Recommend!

We watched Dark Shadows and The Watch over the weekend. Dark Shadows was fucking stupid, which I figured it would be since Depp was in it. But figured I'd give it a try. The Watch was okay, there were some funny parts in it. The scene where Jonah Hill had all the guns in his bedroom had a different feel to it now, than it would have a week ago. But it was okay for that type of comedy.

I agree with that, although, I haven't been able to watch the whole thing yet. I was appalled at the behavior of the early Christians, especially, the guy who threw the other guy into the hot coal pit. Way to teach the Christian attitude, dude.

Last night, I watched the second half of Galaxy Quest with my kids (they were seeing it for the first time). That's the comedy sci fi that is a take off on Star Trek -- Tim Allen, being the self-absorbed Shatner character and Alan Rickman as resentful second-banana Nimoy. My love for Sigourney Weaver shot back up again - she did great in a comic role, and I actually liked her as a blond. Sam Rockwell - AWESOME -- really chewed the scenery. Tony Shalhoub - terrific. Enrico Colantoni -more talented than I realized. We laughed our asses off.

Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. Fun movie if you're in the mood for something silly, yet entertaining.
Strawberry and Chocolate. About 90's era Cuba. Some good parts, but, IMO, mediocre overall.
Sleepless Night - French action movie. Very entertaining and constant action, not a boring second.

Philadelphia. It's not a bad movie, but it hasn't aged well. Some of the scenes dealing with AIDS-phobia and homophobia in general are cringeworthy. Tom Hanks' makeup should have won Best Actor right along with him. I do enjoy this more than I do Forrest Gump.

Magic Mike. My husband howled through the first half. Matthew M plays sleaze so well (anyone else notice how Matthew has a great voice?) and really makes the movie. The story is stupid as hell, theacting was atrocious (besides MM) but the hot dancing made it enjoyable. Soderbergh really is a hack.

I've only seen that movie once and it was when it was at the theater. Watching Tom Hanks character dying in the hospital bed was just horrible. I sobbed during the entire scene. It was so emotional, I felt completely drained after watching that movie.

"Christmas Vacation" - it was on last night and we were able to watch about 45 minutes before we put everyone to bed. I love the theme song. I love the Ray Charles tune ("That Christmas Spirit") that plays while Clark is trapped in the attic reminiscing over old Christmas movies. Julia Louis Dreyfus looking delicious.

So many funny site gags and lines. "Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, Kiss my ass, Kiss his ass. Kiss your ass" "We're going to have the hap-hap-happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby danced with Danny f*cking Kaye!"

    My favorite Christmas movie.
