The last scene and the one before it tore my guts out. Really fine acting.

Skyfall!!! I finally saw Skyfall. It was awesome. So good I couldn't take my eyes from the screen (or run to the bathroom as I needed to pee like halfway into the movie but couldn't find a scene I didn't care about to go for a bathroom break).

How awesome was Javier Bardem? He really blew me away and I ended up sympathising with his character several times.

We Bought a Zoo. Not too bad, but i couldn't get over how horrible Scarlett Johansson looked. The 'love' story between her and Matt Damon's character sucked.
    Matt looked mighty fine

My son had me buy "Roots" so we watched 3 or 4 parts of that. Gotta finish it with him this week. Still a good show!

'We need to talk about Kevin' - Just randomly picked it without knowing what it was about - turns out its about the build up and aftermath of a school massacre from the viewpoint of the perpetrator's mom. Tilda Swinton was absolutely amazing in it and it was quite powerful and unnerving.

Aftershock: Earthquake in New York. Cheesy TV movie about The Big Apple being devastated by a series of tremors. The creepiest part was the news reporter saying, "At least the World Trade Center is still standing". It was made two years before the attacks.

I'd love to watch 'We need to talk about Kevin' but this moron coworker of mine narrated the entire film in detail over lunch one day even though I begged her not to and said I really want to see this film. I might watch it anyway but I sure would have liked not to know pretty much everything about it.

Margaret - surprisingly good film, though it was surrounded by controversy and bad reviews. Anna Paquin has never been better. My husband loved this movie...which is weird since it's basically people talking non-stop. We're still talking about the movie.

The Fighter - Bale and Wahlberg had great brotherly chemistry here. Melissa Leo was a little too young to play their mother but she breathes fire. In the end, the plot was a little too neatly resolved for me, a little too Hollywood. So I looked up the lives of these boxers, on line, and found out that, yeah, the situation was a little messier than described in the movie. Still, to see Bale and Leo do semi-humorous roles is great.

"I shoved a firefly up my butt to see if my farts would glow." That line in itself was worth the rental fee for me.
