We watched That's My Boy. Uggg..... Adam Sandler's movies suck over the last several years. He doesn't even write comedy, anymore. It seems like all he wants to do is throw in a bunch of gross ass comments and stunts, and then add in some nudity with over the top sexual situations. I guess I just don't find it funny at this point in my life. Wasn't his early stuff funny?? Or was it just me?? Seems like his early movies were really fun and with just a tad of sick humor.

I haven't seen an Adam Sandler movie since "Big Daddy."

Watched "Argo" over the wkend. Ben Affleck can't act for shit but it's an overall good movie.

The only Adam Sandler movie I liked was Punch Drunk Love. It was like he made one decent film to prove to folks he had some acting chops, then went right back to his shitty toilet joke flicks.

Sat through the first hour of Titanic: Blood and Steel. The only thing I learned is that I don't have to sit through the remaining 11 hours.

I enjoyed Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer and The Waterboy. They start to fall off after that,...with a few okay ones thrown in the mix.

The storyline was pretty cool. Basically a (vampire) dad being protective of his daughter. Adam Sandler kept ALL his Sandler ideosynchrosies in check - to the point where you would never know it was Sandler as the voice of Dracula.

Buscemi stood out as the wolfman - especially funny was him as a beaten down dad who'd had too many kids. Cee Lo was a good mummy. I think this movie is going to make a LOT on merchandising because of all the distinctive looking characters. Definitely something I would have on DVD.
Thanks. Did your kids like it? Mine want to see it too.

We also watched The Cabin in the Woods. It was okay for a semi-horror flick. I've seen worse. I mainly watched for Chris Hemsworth.

And then What to Expect When Your Expecting. It had some funny parts, but not as good as I had hoped. I do love Chris Rock, and it was neat to see him in a role as a participating Dad. Something different. His little boy, Jordan, on the show was SO CUTE!!!!! What a little doll baby!
I read the Cabin in the Woods book. Stupid. Was the movie as bad? It just seemed over the top ridiculous.

I can only wonder how KStew keeps getting work. They were both horrible. In The Runaways Dakota Fannings character seemed to just go along with everything. No motivation, no goals, just coasting on by. Snow White and The Huntsman, The Huntsman was so much more interesting it wasnt even funny. And why do they keep trying to act like shes so pretty? She isnt! She is not the fairest of them all! Stop lying! Cast someone beautiful for the role if you want to say that but not KStew!
I really, really wanted to like SWatH but it sucked serious ass. CH was the only reasonable actor in the bunch.

Insidious didn't make me leave the lights on but it had me thinking about it for several days. Interesting premise.

The Princess Bride was my single favorite movie from childhood. My kids all love it too. That piece in Entertainment Weekly catching up with the characters was fantastic.

We had 12 kids over from our neighborhood tonight to watch The Goonies. They ranged in age from my youngest (2) to 12. Every one of them loved it. We've seen that movie 20 or 30 times but it's fantastic to watch it through new little eyes. They all threw covers over their eyes when the Fratellis showed up or when there was a kiss. Hilarious. We're already planning another movie night so they can watch Home Alone.

Finally saw The Avengers and enjoyed it. Mark Ruffalo is fantastic as Hulk. I might have to check it out, I had avoided it because the last one with Ed Norton sucked so hard.

I absolutely agree about that. The premise was definitely interesting, I almost wish they'd gone into it a little more (or a lot more) than they did. I wonder if there was supposed to be a sequel? Like I said, I wasn't scared to pieces, but I really did enjoy the movie and the mood of it, as well as the twist they took on the story.

The last movie I saw was Argo, which I liked a lot, but I love movies like that. Still have not seen The Master. grr

The Hard Way with Michael J. Fox. Pretty damn good movie, for a $5 bargain-bin impulse buy.

I tried watching Nine , It seems as if the movie starts half way into a story , it just seemed really disjointed and didn't flow very well and just could not get into to it , and seeing Fergie was really disturbing she looked awful

Kids still love the Goonies. My boys also like Spaceballs and Wayne's World. I think the kids would have to be over 10 to properly appreciate.

So I was talking to my 13 year old and kept talking about the movie Vacation. He kept thinking I was referring to Christmas Vacation. I realized he'd never seen the original. So I rented it for him. I totally forgot some of the more "inappropriate" moments, but he absolutely loved it and he showed it to 2 of his friends that spent the night a few days later!
