the best part of watching this movie IMO

Son and I watched The Cowboys(1972) with John Wayne last night.
He actually applauded at the end.
Now he knows John Wayne. Mama is proud.

I finally got around to watching Taken with Liam Neeson. The action parts are fine, but the movie is one of the most sexist films I've ever seen. The mother is a sniveling shrew, the daughter is spoiled rotten, and every other female in the movie is a victim. There is not one female character who happens to be police, CIA, a criminal, etc.

This was the last movie I saw in the theaters too (couple weeks ago) and I surprisingly really enjoyed it. I thought it ran a little long but other than that I liked it.

I think it is a very cynical, paint-by-numbers movie. Hated it.

Ok, in keeping with the running theme in my life, I finally got around to watching the first Sex and The City movie. It was on E! or something, so it was the edited version. I have to admit that I didn't hate it. I have been watching some of the earlier reruns of the show and kinda got sucked back in....

    Hate myself.

I do agree. You're right about the paint by numbers part. The plot was absolutely terrible and most of the characters were cartoonish or shallow. Evil lurks around every Paris corner, and there's idiot foreign girls who fall for it every time I guess? I should have just rewatched a Bourne movie.

Watching Never Let Me Go for the second time. First time I watched it I was at my cousin's house with some people I'd never met before so I had to hold the tears in. This time the dam is going to burst and I'll be making up for not crying the first time!

My hilarious uncle was making fun of this a few weeks ago. All the 'europe is dangerous, the girl shouldn't go' hysteria and then the minute she gets off the plane they grab her. 'Oh nooo, the dirty foreigners have the young virgin!!'. We were rolling on the floor. It was a million times better than the movie.

^I'm sorry I missed that! It would have been way better than the movie, instead it was me be myself making pained and puzzled faces at the screen. And I couldn't get over "The Virgin" aspect of it, either.....

That's the only reasons why my girlfriends and I always watch the Twilight movies, so we can trash them and have a good laugh.

    My thoughts exactly.
Boooo bad men all around, take care little helpless virgins ! Oh wait, Papa's coming and he's super strong ! Yeah Hurraaaah !
    Total sexist shit.

And I love the morale : the GOOD virgin girl is saved, but her BAD BEHAVED friend, well too bad for her, had she behaved and remained a virgin, maybe her dad would have saved her too.

Currently watching 'Did you hear about the Morgan's?' on Lifetime. Stars Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker. As horrible as you would think. So dumb, so predictable, so not entertaining. If ANYTHING else was on of interest, I would not be watching it.

The Joneses with Demi Moore and David Duchovny. About a faux plant family who work to market goods to their neighbors and the eventual evils of that materialism. Naturally, I became enchanted with Demi's necklace and scoured the net for who made it.

I enjoyed The Dark Knight Rises quite thoroughly. Not sure what some people are complaining about. Great end to the trilogy. Tied up all the loose ends and served itself up in one big long tense onslaught.

After the Avengers, Christian Bale is just too damn moody for a superhero flick. Of course I'll probably eat mybwords and love it but he's a moody bitch.

I watched The Help after reading the book. Some of the performances were perfect. They altered the flow of the story but they mostly did the story justice. I found it funny that Nate Burkus was a producer.
