Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 1... So, so, so bad. I had so much fun making sarcastic comments the entire way through

Saw Ted with my stepson. It was...exactly what you would expect. I wanted to smack the people who brought their small children to the theater, though

Everyone raved about it too. Weird. I didn't see the other two but there wasn't a ton to like about this. Maybe that's because I could actually see Ross Gellar, Larry from Night at the Museum, the manly Jada Smith, and Chris Rock trying to carry on a conversation together.

    Young Frankenstein is brilliant.

My daughter went to see this with her grandma. They both thought it was really violent. My kid (who has never really had nightmares), had them for a week after this. She said something about how mean the daughter was to the mom.

Seth for some reason, the picture you posted didn't come through, but I checked the properties and the documentary you saw was "Making the Boys". Thanks for the tip - I definitely want to see this. I was about 10 or 12 when they were playing clips of this movie on TV. I knew almost nothing about gay culture (and definitely didn't know any out gay people) at the time, and it was kind of galvanizing to hear the dialog and get this feeling that there was this group of people with a sexuality that I barely understood yet, forced to kind of hide who they were.

Children Underground. It was a documentary following homeless children in Romania living in a subway station fending for themselves. So fucking depressing.

Saw Ted this afternoon. I expected it to be funnier. I was expecting Dumb and Dumber funny, which I saw in the theatre and laughed so hard I almost pissed my pants. It's worth a few chuckles, but not tears streaming down your face funny.
RELIGION: Treat it like it's your genitalia. Don't show it off in public, and don't shove it down your children's throats.

Thanks to the free Encore (b/c of the DirecTV/Viacom mess), we finally saw Taxi Driver. Brilliant performance by De Niro, very disturbing film. I'm actually enjoying Encore though...

SEE THE FIRST Madagascar. It's hilarious imho. I didn't care for the 2nd and haven't seen the 3rd yet (girls went with friends). They didn't even seem that interested in #3 either when they got home. Seriously though, see the first. My husband and I loved it, and that's all that matters. ha

Also---my girls saw Brave w/their Grandma too and both said it was 'scary'. No one expected that. Everyone was really suprised.

We'll try the first Lynnie. Thanks! A friend of mine is a film critic in New York and he called it "sadistic" on facebook and said he found the relationship between the girl and her mom to be mean-spirited.

    Moonrise Kingdom.

I prefer The Royal Tenebaums, that one was funnier to me, but this is one of Wes Anderson's best films. I loved it, the mood, the characters, the cinematography were all great. I want to go see it again.
