I loved that movie! It was just perfect.

I just saw Like Crazy. When I first saw the trailer and heard about it I thought it sounded corny and boring, but it was a real rollercoaster and very authentic. The acting was great. I was holding in tears for honestly over half of this movie. I really enjoyed it. It was not what I expected.

    Mysterious Skin

Mysterious Skin tells the story of two pre-adolescent boys who are sexually abused by their baseball coach, and how it affects their lives in different ways into their young adulthood. One boy becomes a reckless, sexually adventurous male prostitute, while the other retreats into a fantasy of alien abduction.

I really liked it and thought Joseph Gordon Levitt did a great job

Watched Change-Up last night. It was the unrated version and we were cracking up through most of it. Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds did a really good job of playing eachother!

Started getting into The Deer Hunter but then was way too wussy to watch the Russian Roulette dealio happening in Vietnam without wondering if I'd end up traumatized the rest of my otherwise pleasant Sunday so quickly switched to 2005's version of Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley. She's a bit more annoying than I realized but it's such a gorgeous looking film.

I looked up the summary of The Deer Hunter. I know how it ends. That is good enough for me.

i finally watched "bridesmaids" yesterday and i'm SO damn disappointed. whoever compared this to "hangover" needs a lobotomy. even as a rom-com this wasn't good. the only funny scene was the one where they try on dresses, the rest was beyond boring. every jennifer aniston movie is funnier than this.

i also watched "the inbetweeners" and that, on the other hand, was absolutely hilarious.

The first one is the only movie that is new to me. It was okay, but nowhere near as funny as The Sweetest Thing.

I think SJP is just perfect in The Family Stone. She is so nervous and uncomfortable about meeting the guy's family and she says the wrong things and comes off as completely uptight, and you just feel so sorry for her. She kind of reminds me of myself when I have to meet new people.
i love this movie and i agree, she was perfect for that role.

I watched this last year and posted about it here...very good movie. Joseph is a talented actor.

Today I watched The Bodyguard...it's still awful, but Whitney looks so lovely in it. But her acting....oh, no.

We watched 50/50, Twilight Breaking Dawn, part 1 and The Rum Diary.

I thought the Rum Diary was long as hell and dumb, with no real point. I am not sure what Depp thought was so great about doing this movie. He is always going on about how picky he is about choosing the right movies for his craft,...whatever.

50/50 was okay. I don't really like that Seth Rogen. I don't think he is very funny and he sucks at acting. I don't see the all the love with this guy. Joseph GL was good in it,...he seems like such a sweet heart of a guy.

And Twilight Breaking Dawn, part 1 was okay for that series. The acting sucked in it as usual,...but at least there wasn't 20 scenes of Bella and Edward yearning for each other with those lustful looks. She was upset and pissed at him for most of the movie, so it was nice not having to endure that for 90 minutes. It was wild to see how thin they made Bella seem at the end of the movie. Her legs and arms were like toothpicks, and the way they had her bones sticking out of her neck and back was realistic looking. She sure did look like she was starved within an inch of her life. Jacob was hot as usual,....DAMN!!! Hard to believe the kid just turned 20. He is to good looking for his own good. lol His acting was a smidge better than the other 3 movies. But,...I am glad this series is almost done.

My Own Country with Naveen Andrews. Based on a true story about an Indian doctor dealing with the AIDS epidemic in a small Tennessee town. Better than I thought it would be. Naveen is beautiful.

It was a terrible movie about this hot black exec whose temp secretary is that blonde from Heroes, the one who had split personality and she comes on to him but he loves his wife and won't give in so she starts stalking him. I remember thinking, no wonder he doesn't want to give in to that white skank, his wife is gorgeous, the actress looks like Beyonce.

I spent the entire film thinking the dude was a completely different actor but turns out it was my baby Idris Elba who was soooo hot in The Wire and should always have a beard and play a badass and turns out the "actress" playing the wife actually was Beyonce!?

The film was called Obsessed and it was easily one of the worst pieces of crap I have sat through lately.

It was Beyonstage in that movie. I thought she was horrible just in the trailers.

"Ground Truth", which was on streaming Netflix. It was a documentary about U.S. soldiers dealing with the emotional and physical trauma of serving in Iraq. You had very young men and women talking about the total lack of respect for human life that working in those conditions fosters. A lot of them said that they had been extravagantly lied to by recruiters about what they would be doing in the military. Then, when they got there, they were just hoping to stay alive and get back home in one piece. However, a good number of them were dealing with severe burns, amputations, fractured spines, brain trauma, and PTSD. It was also illuminating to hear from the spouses and bf's/gf's of the soldiers coming back - what these people have to deal with in living every day with someone who is broken physically and/or emotionally.

Great movie, but not one I would recommend to just anyone. My hubs left in the middle, couldn't deal with it.

I LOVED that book, cried through the last 100 pages. Will avoid the movie, because the book had such a profound effect on me.

Saw The Descendants a couple of weeks ago, it was a lovely and beautiful movie! It had its moments where it was funny and sad too. As for George Clooney's performance he was pretty good in it, honestly though he doesn't deserve an Oscar for it, as he wasn't THAT good. The girls (Shailene Woodley and Amara Miller) were nice enough, I would like to have seen more from Shailene in her role as Alex. The confrontation scene where Matt's wife's lover and Matt come face to face, really liked the execution of the scene and how Matt dealt with the affair.

Caught Drive this past weekend, I must say it is an utterly brilliant movie! Thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't understand why it didn't pick up any Oscar nods, totally robbed of it! The screenplay, the visuals and Ryan's performance deserved oscar recognition. I like the fact visually it wasn't your typical glossy cliched Hollywood action movie it brought something new to the table in terms of the look and feel of the movie. It was very slick, stylised and the mystery surrounding the Driver character carried the movie well. Really felt so bad for Bryan Cranston's character at the end, he didn't deserve it! Poor guy!
