Friends With Benefits - JT was marginally better than his wooden acting in Social Network, but his reedy little girl voice didn't work for a romantic lead. Mila was gorgeous as usual.

Also saw Thor and loved it, although I couldn't get past the bad bleach job on Thor's eyebrows, and he looked a bit squinty throughout. I think he's probably the least attractive of all those Hemsworth boys (I can't remember their names but I liked the one who was Didge's wheelchair-bound boyfriend in Neighbours) but I'd still hit it even without the hammer.

ETA: The one I'm thinking of is Liam, ie the one who was shagging Miley Cyrus - so he's lost a lot of his cute credentials by association. Again, would still hit it though.

that's true, even after watching it about 10 times, i still haven't understood a word he said.
i think he said in an interview he talked like this because he wanted to bring out the caginess/uptightness of his character.
see the original straw dogs. so much better

I saw "One Day" with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess. I only saw bits and pieces of it because I was in and out of the room doing other things, but I liked what I saw. I will have to watch it again when I can really devote 2 hours to it and see the whole thing. I loved the book it was based on.

Yes, askars is in it, but so is Kate Bosworth, ugh. This movie is so bad it barely escaped being direct to DVD. It was in theaters maybe 2-3 weeks before it was pulled.

^^ i actually get her appeal after seeing her on-screen now. i guess i'll have to go see the original sometime.

caramel, if you need "happy time" material, he is topless and sweaty most of the time... (his character is not so sexy, though).

I haven't seen the new "Straw Dogs" but I did see the old one a long time ago. I didn't think it was very good - it seemed like maybe one of the original films where you have to watch someone be basically tortured and humiliated for about 95% of the film as a prelude to a grand guignol revenge payoff. Kind of like "Last House on the Left", which came out a year later.

^My 13 yr old cousin told me about Last House on the Left last year so I watched it and was horrified he recommended it to me.

I watched Friends with Benefits last night, thought it was pretty funny but so predictable. I have to wonder if Mila and Justin actually hooked up during filming because their sex scenes were pretty believable...

The Family Man staring Nick Cage and Tia Leoni. I enjoyed it, it's a kind of cheesy christmas movie but there were a lot of parts I LOL'd to.

Don't be afraid of the dark with Katy Holmes. I am only half way through and don't know if I can finish it.
The plot is ridiculous. A little girl discovers a hidden creepy basement in her new house. There is a chamber in the wall sealed by a lid and behind that lid live little monsters who whisper to the little girl in the eeriest voice possible that would scare every child (and adult) shitless and the girl is like: "Why hello there, my friends, wait a second, I will open the lid and set you free and then we can be friends!" Retarded.

^^ it is ridiculous and her acting is the scariest part of the movie. but i thought the monsters were kind of creepy before they started showing their ridiculous CGI-generated faces. this could've been a scary movie with different actors, different shooting/camera work and a different plot.

I think the movie had potential too but the story line is so damn clumsy.
