Yes, Eddie lost that Oscar all on his own with Norbit, was was a hot mess!
Well, enjoy that rare Beyonce compliment. There won't be another one coming for a looonnnnggg time.

And, yeah, Jamie's character was a real bastard, but he played the hell out of it, though. I liked at the very end when he realized that Effie's daughter was his kid and he stood there with that stupid look on his face. Classic.

at the cinema: The golden compass - I thought it was ok, nothing special, I really liked the books and NK looked nothing like I imagined Mrs. Coulter, I don't care if the author picked her.

at home: Chungking Express - I still like it a lot

Has he ever gotten in trouble for using that word a lot? I mean he uses it like no other in all his films it seems. I think Tarantino is a bit racist IMO.

Quentin is a homage-aholic, he grew up with the 70's Blaxploitation films and watched and rewatched them as a video store clerk - hence his casting of Pam Grier in Jackie Brown. The guy thinks in camera lenses not racial hatred

I don't know whether Tarantino's a racist or not, but that blaxploitation excuse is b.s. Blaxploitation movies died out for a reason. I mean, there are other ways he could pay homage without having to use the N-word five million times in his movies.

And before anybody says it, black directors shouldn't be using the N-word 5 million times in their movies either.

Well, Raspberry, I like Jenni and the Break up was really hard to sit through. I think she and Vaughn had good chemistry and there were some good scenes but that movie couldn't decide whether it was a drama or a comedy and I think it failed in both.

The Shining. I really liked it and found it to be pretty creepy. They don't make horror movies like they used to.

I watched the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre a year ago, and I'm STILL creeped out...and Dixie doesn't scare easily.

Exactly. It does not look good for that word to be in a film so much.
But then again we're supposed to laugh when they call someone a fag or whatever in a comedy. Our society is fucked up.

I'm gonna have to rent the orignal. The first Nightmare on Elm Street can still freak me out.

I saw Rob Zombie's Halloween this week (I get free rental so i'm not wasting money on this) and it was awful. He completely messed up a great classic.

Rob Zombie's music I like, so I've stayed away from the movies. I figure they're the types that only interest death-metal pimply teen boys.
