The Children's Hour with Audrey Hepburn, Shirley MacLaine, and James Garner. Shirley MacLaine was fantastic; Hepburn was herself, as always. That was a lot of movie for 1961, and I'm surprised it was made and so well received then.

    Drive. Beautiful.

Abduction. Not horrid, but ordinary. Completely leaves your memory as soon as you leave the theater.

Go see it! It is amazing, I absolutely loved it and am buying it as soon as it comes out. Ryan Gosling is such a fantastic actor, and was so sexy in this too.

We watched Winter's Bone, The King's Speech and Collateral over the weekend.

All three were pretty good. Not the best movies I have watched, but not the worst by far.

I didn't know Winter's Bone would be about poor, meth makers in Mo,...but it was a different plot than most movies. The girl that played the lead did really well. I hadn't seen her act in anything else, but than realized she was Raven in X-Men, First Class.

Not sure how I ended up with Collateral in my Queue. It wasn't on my list at all. I can't stand Jamie Foxx, Jada Pinkett Smith or Tom Crusie,...but it was a pretty good movie.

Holy cr*p! I saw that movie about 30 years ago, and just now realized that the cute woman opposite Audrey Hepburn was Shirley Maclaine.

We also watched X-Men, First Class yesterday. I enjoyed it,...but I like that whole franchise of movies.

I loved that they didn't dumb-down most of the science-y talk. And I loved that it was the most random mixture of big-name actors, character actors and complete unknowns, and that <semi-spoilers in white> some of the big-name actors got wiped out early while the character actors and unknowns got the more meaty or semi-heroic roles.</semi-spoilers in white>

However, I thought it was a little heavy-handed at the end <last spoilers in white> to have the original bat come from the forest that was torn down by Gwyneth Paltrow's company and then, just by coincidence, she ends up being Patient Zero.</spoilers in white>
actually, some of the movie was not accurate - for example, the CDC would not treat an outbreak the way that the movie depicted.

the best thing about the movie was - spoiler - gwyneth died within the first few minutes of the start of the movie.
