The Violent Men - routine 50s Western with Barbara Stanwyck and Edward G. Robinson. Made in the twilight of their careers.

Airport 77 - underrated disaster flick worth watching, if only to see stewardess Brenda Vaccaro coldcock panicky passenger Lee Grant.

"The Dilemna" with Vince Vaughn & that guy from King of Queens. Could have been much funnier, and it was way too bromancy.

Finished Little Fockers - boring. I can't get over how disappointed I was.

Sunset Boulevard. Gloria Swanson is absolute nutty perfection in this film. It's creepy and hilarious and just bizarre at the same time.

Capitalism: A Love Story. Watched it last night and watching it again. Now I am starting to get the Democrat hate as well as the already existing hate for the Republicans. This film made me so angry.

    The Guard

Laughed my ass off. Hillariously quirky film. Brendan Gleeson is a powerhouse, amazing performance, Don Cheadle was funny as the straight man to Gleeson's wackiness, my crush on Mark Strong was rekindled (Lord Blackwood in Sherlock Holmes), first time seeing Liam Cunningham and I just know he'll make an excellent Davos in Game of Thrones' second season and holy cow, this Slovenian model who's in it, Katarina Cas just might be one of the most beautiful women I've seen:

She has something of a young Kim Catrall about her. Maybe they should consider her for the SaTC prequel if they can get away with Samantha being inexplicably Slovenian...

Alpha and Omega. My kid's choice. Bad. Just really really bad. I have pretty low expectations when it comes to kid movies but, dear god, this one was bad.

However, my kid's critique of it was "The animation isn't very good but everything else is GREAT!" and he's now on his second viewing.

ETA: Yanna - she is gorgeous.

Mask. I thought it ended with him finding love and living happily ever after. I cried like a goddamn baby.

Having a movie weekend. My cousin was movie deprived as a kid. All of my friends on facebook created a list of 100 movies she has to watch. We've been ticking them off. We saw Wolverine, X-Men and X2. I forgot how cheesy they could be but they're still good fun.

My kids and I are watching Harry and the Hendersons. My son's reaction to it is priceless. He's back and forth with crazy laughing and lip-quivering sadness because he's worried about Harry.

    Love these kinds of weekends.

Thor - I was surprisingly entertained, given the low rent comic book B class hero this is. I enjoyed it more than most of the stupid superhero movies. The guy who played Thor had a bit of charm about him, and whoever played Loki was nicely understated. Natalie Portman cried in this movie, of course.

Priest. It's really really bad, but Paul Bettany is hot enough to make it tolerable.
