this actually surprises me (that the movie was good). I wasn't expecting it to be worth a pooh.
    Kill him.
    Kill her.
    Kill It.
Kill everything... that IS the solution!

We went in with high hopes despite Rotten Tomatoes review score. My husband says it follows the story line in the original comic series very well. Plus he saw part of it being filmed outside his office. We loved it and hope it does well over the next few weeks.

True Grit. I saw it with 3 other family members, so it was pretty much MST3K amateur hour. Even though I couldn't hear it half the time, it was fun looking at Matt Damon and Josh Brolin.

We watched True Grit on Father's Day. It was an okay movie, for a western. They just aren't my cup of tea. I wasn't overly impressed with the original, so I didn't go into it expecting much. The girl did do a great job, and Jeff Bridges was pretty good as Rooster.

Really? That's great. I'm obsessed with these types of movies and thought the trailer looked awful. It would be great to see it do well.

My cousin was over last night. My friends on facebook compiled a list of the best 100 movies to see so she comes over to tick them off one by one. Last night we watched The Princess Bride. Still love it after all of these years and my kids loved it too.

Grown Ups. What a steaming pile of poo. What were they thinking? It had a few funny moments but the rest of it was cringeworthy.

    X-Men First Class

Did not disappoint. I take back everything mean I may have ever said about Fassbender. Yes, please!

Zoe Kravitz shouldn't quit her day job, though. Pretty girl but can't act at all.

Finally at the end the cops show up after said main baddy is killed with about 5 shotgun blasts, and the protagonists are all standing around saying "shucks, we didn't see anything. HAHAHAHAHAH!" and the cops just shrug... it was the dumbest thing. I can't believe that movie actually got made, it wasn't about ANYTHING! A bouncer goes to work for a new club, turns it around, and kills a few people in the process. How the fuck do you pitch that? AWFUL MOVIE.
I must respectfully disagree. Roadhouse is up there with Showgirls as one of the finest pieces of cinema. A bouncer with a Ph D in philosophy?? Come on!

Well, not to start anything, but many people with PhD's end up working low-end jobs because they can't get anything in their field and they have student loans that need to be paid off. A degree doesn't necessarily guarantee a good job anymore. However, if you were snarking getting a PhD in philosophy, forgive me for butting in.

No offense to anyone here who actually has a PhD in philosophy.

    Fall From Grace

Interesting documentary about Westboro Baptist Church and The Fred Phelps Family

made me sad to see the shit they had the grandkids spouting off

when they had no idea what it is they're saying

    they've all been brainwashed

4 of Fred's kids have left the family entirely behind

Fred used to beat them really bad with a barber's strap

his son Nate has said he hasn't talked to his brothers and sisters in 25-30 yrs since he escaped

Fred seems to me to be demented

I just looked at the plot premise: A woman is raped and the only way for the family to "expunge the dishonor" is for her to be killed.
