The Last House on the Left (remake)

I avoided watching this movie for quite a long time because I kept seeing reviews of how violent and disturbing it was. Having actually watched it now, I am left wondering if I saw a different movie. I was all psyched up for something gruesome and it wasn't anything special.

friends with money: again in a character role, jennifer aniston shines. everyone is good in this film (esp frances mcdormand) but aniston as the vulnerable, pothead underdog is really, really good. her scenes with scott caan are funny and she gives her character real flesh and blood. a film about friendhip and relationships, good stuff.

I saw that too. God bless the Whites and their brawling, drugging, thieving ways. And Sue Bob as the "sexiest" of the Whites --- mmmkay! Face like a Mack truck, that one has. There has got to be some serious inbreeding in this family.

You should check out The Dancing Outlaw, that one gave Jesco some fame, and it's pretty hilarious.

    The Mechanic - 2011

This was okay. I loved the first hour but got bored after that. The ending was very silly. Still i love me some Jason Stratham.

Oh, I'm so glad someone else watched this and loved it. I love the beginning where Jesco is dancing on the picnic table while Hank III is strumming and singing. It's awesome. I'll have to see where I can get the Dancing Outlaw. Maybe Netflix has it. The first time I watched it, I caught it half way through and Sue Bob and Kirk were going to get the baby. Well, I thought Sue Bob was a man, based on her voice. Those White genes are some mighty strong genes. They all look and sound alike.

My friends made me see "I'm Number Four" the movie with that Alex Pettywhoever in it.

It was so fucking BORING and lame. The acting was mediocre and I barely remember the plot because it was so uninteresting. Alex cannot act, or even look hot. And the people I watched with agreed when we booed and left.

Saw Inception last night. The score was great but a bit overdone. The effects were cool but I expected a bit more. The story itself was really interesting. It's one of those movies that you find yourself thinking about after you've stopped watching it. Eight of us watched it. I was the only one who wasn't pissed off at the ending. It made perfect sense to me.

Watching the Wolfman with Hopkins and Benicio. Its awful slow for so much talent. Getting better though.

    ETA: Okay, it really sucks.

    The Way Back

It started really well but kinda fizzled in the very end and it was misleading if you had seen the trailer. Colin Farrell totally stole the show, I just wish there had been more of him. Gorgeous vistas, totally the kind of film you have to watch at the cinema.

Curse of the Golden Flower – 2006 - (plot from IMDB – click on title for IMDB page):

During China's Tang dynasty the emperor has taken the princess of a neighbouring province as wife. She has borne him two sons and raised his eldest. Now his control over his dominion is complete, including the royal family itself.

Loved this movie; don’t let the fact that it’s subtitled put you off. This is a great movie; the costumes are gorgeous; the actions scenes fantastic and the performances (particularly from Gong Li and Chow Yun Fat) are excellent.

There are some great plot twists which I didn’t see coming. This movie is pretty good.

Elvis and Annabelle – 2007 - (plot from IMDB – click on title for IMDB page):

Groomed by her overly ambitious mother, Annabelle is on the road to winning the Miss Texas Rose tiara when she dies tragically during a pageant. Her death lands her on the embalming table of Elvis. When Annabelle is miraculously resurrected on Elvis' embalming table, the two unexpectedly connect and sparks fly.

Pretty good movie; it takes a while to get going but it’s a lovely love story. Blake Lively is pretty good in this. I would recommend it.

Due Date with Zack Galifinakis (Fat Jesus) and RDJ. I laughed my ass off as did my 12 year old son... admittedly, I have the sense of humor of a 12 year old boy so... I'd recommend it as just a feel good comedy.

"Battleship Potemkin". It's considered one of the greatest films of all time, but my bourgeois ass fell asleep in the first 10 minutes.
