The Kids are Alright and The Preacher's Kid.

The Kids are Alright was okay. But I felt like the story just stopped before any of their lives were resolved. Left me feeling cheated. Not sure why this movie is getting Oscar hype. Not terrible, but it can't be one of the best of the year.

The Preachers Kid wasn't what I expected. I figured it would be a good movie for my youngest, but I am glad I watched it first. It was your basic preachers kid breaking free from Daddy's control and diving into life. Then finding out she chose the wrong path and having to own up to it and go back home.

I thought it got rather stupid toward the end. It would have been so much better if they had kept it realistic instead of setting up for the bad sequel (which they say they won't do, but we all know they will).

So, interestingly, he said "neither". He said that he hasn't seen them in enough to decide - he's only seen Mila in That 70s Show and Natalie in the Star Wars movies until now. Frankly, I thought for sure he'd pick Mila but he was always more of a Donna guy (from That 70s Show) so I'm not surprised that neither do it for him.

I kind of felt the same way. I enjoyed it a lot but it was really mostly about the acting for me, not so much the story or directing or writing. The acting was unbelievably good, all around. I feel like Mia Wasikowska is one to watch.

Enchanted---Disney movie. Not nearly as horrible as I expected yet still, a Disney movie. Patrick Dempsey is of course, cute as hell. And that Amy Adams (I think that is her name) is pretty good. Overall, decent for the under 10 crowd.

The Stepfather: I liked it enough, nothing exceptional. And the murders aren't too grisly due to the rating, which I definitely prefer.

The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia. A documentary about this crazy, hillbilly, tap dancing, drug addicted, all around criminal family from West Virginia. My GOD! This is an incredible documentary/movie. Love it. Can't believe people are really like this.

Well that is interesting. I'm glad you explained who you mean by Donna. I've never seen that 70's Show and my first thought for a character named Donna is Tori Spelling in 90210

The original or the remake? I think I liked the original better.

HA! Yeah, definitely not that Donna. The one from That 70s Show was tall, red-headed, smart, funny, etc. Sort of the girl-next-door type. Mila's character, Jackie, was loud, obnoxious, snotty, high maintenance.

the hunger. except for the dude rollerskating and the very tagged on ending, a great film. the seduction scene between deneuve and susan sarandon is truly arousing.

I haven't seen the original. The remake with Sela Ward. I'm not surprised the original is probably better. When I watched the directors commentary on the DVD, he said he tried to make it just like the original. Damn it, whats the point of a re-make when I only want to do now is watch the original! And compare them, of course.

Blow Dry: This movie is about a national hairdressing contest and SHOULD be terrible, but it works. It's funny and there's a lesbian love story at the center of it that is very moving. My only criticism is Josh Hartnett's british accent is abysmal. Couldn't be any worse if he was actually choking on the union jack.
