i was so disappointed in that movie. i thought the beginning was amazing and scary and then after about 20 minutes it all went downhill and the ending was plain ridiculous.

i watched lots of movies last weekend:

the evil dead: hilariously bad. but it's an old movie so that's what i expected. i enjoyed it, though, it was funny.

    house of 1000 corpses
: very entertaining. i expected it to be really bad, but it was actually pretty cool. obviously it's not a scary horror movie, but the dialogue, the setting and the characters were entertaining.

nightmare on elm street (remake): i liked it. one of the better remakes, but i didn't like the way they changed freddy. he just didn't give off the same vibe as the original one.

altitude: one of the worst movies ever. the ending was ridiculous and the characters were so unlikeable and annoying and beyond stupid that i wanted them to die right from the start. jessica lowndes is really beautiful on screen, though.

I just can't see anyone but Robert Englund as Freddy.

The second movie to that is The Devils Rejects, and I think it is a much better movie. All of the same characters are in it also.

Jackie Earle Hayley is the shizz. No one can replace Robert but he does a good job.

I too loved Stardust and was surprised.

I read the Lovely Bones. Hated the book and was unsure about the movie but maybe I'll check it out.

Our Family Wedding Pretty much what I expected, but some parts were surprisingly snarky and funny.

Dorian Gray Still trying to decide if I liked it. Ben Barnes was good though.

The Assassin Next Door. Olga Kurylenko is fantastic. The story was interesting as well.

Get Him to the Greek. I loved this movie. Jonah Hill and Russell Brand were hysterical and RB was so fucking hot.

Titanic. The original one. It was so-so, but i couldn't stop staring at Barbara Stanwyk's horribly applied lipstick.

"Due Date".. oh my god, it sucked. I was pretty drunk throughout the movie.. we went to a theatre where you could order food and drinks and I foolishly downed too many beers but (from what I can remember) the chemistry between RDJ and Zach Galifasdfsadkas was weird as shit.

Saw Due Date too. I didn't think it sucked, it was funny, but not if you had "The Hangover"-level expectations. Galifianakis is great at being the ridiculous, over the top stooge. His prissy walk in those tight skinny stonewashed jeans as he held his dog cracked me up. The dog was highly adorable.

I spent a lot of time looking over RDJ. God that man looks good, he's aged beautifully. I kept staring at his nose and wondered if he'd done something to it. I don't remember it being so thin, straight and upturned. I remember it as being more snub.

Penny, I do agree that the chemistry between them was kind of off. They were supposed to be antagonistic but mainly it just made you uncomfortable for RDJ. Like they were going for a What About Bob? but fell way short. Maybe it's because RDJ is the better actor yet was relegated to straight man status, it was really a vehicle to showcase Galifianakis. But it wasn't a good enough movie to use either actor to their full potential. Maybe they really didn't get along, as that other article about their confrontation over Mad Mel losing a cameo, and the movie did suffer as a consequence.

I loved what RDJ did in the first scene when he's talking to his wife on his headset.. he does something with his teeth, like he gnashes them, and I remember being struck by how great of an actor he is. And then Zach comes along and it just takes it down a notch.. yes, I agree that it was just weird seeing him in that role. He can do funny.. but this was weird funny. Almost "funny but trying to be grown up funny and failing miserably" and it's weird because I love him on "Bored to Death".

I wouldn't see it again.. there's quirky and then there's awkward and this was just plain awkward to watch.

went to see 'the social network' last night. it was awesome. and the actor who plays zuckerberg is totally hot in a nerdy kind of way.
the winklevoss twins were hilarious and i think the 'winklevii' quip was my favourite line in the movie. great writing - not surprising considering aaron sorkin wrote the screenplay.

After.Life - Not a great movie, but interesting nonetheless. It stars Liam Neeson and Cristina Ricci. She's half-naked again for those who care. I don't think i can explain the plot without giving too much away.

Memory - an older Billy Zane movie that absolutely sucked, but Ann Margaret has a surprising role in it that almost makes it worth watching. Dennis Hopper was WAY off his game in this one. I don't think I've ever seen his work suck before, but it sure as hell did in this one.
