Cider House Rules - 1999 Tobey McGuire and Charlize Theron. I really liked Charlize in this movie and Tobey was great as usual. I've seen it a few times before and I like it even better than the book.

I'd give it 8 out of 10 stars.

Good night you princes of Maine and you kings of New England.

    zzzzzzzzzz.........

We were schmucks for paying full price to see this one!
It's actually kind of sad, and dark. A few funny moments. Son slept, fiance really liked it.
I guess if you don't have high expectations of a laugh out loud, funny movie, and expect more of a "drama", then the story isn't so horrible...
FYI, the "dinner" is at the very end of the movie, and lasts less than 5 minutes. Not so much a spoiler, but you'll appreciate knowing this if you're going to see it.

The Testament of Dr Mabuse. I shouldn't have watched it while drunk, I couldn't get into it.

Boondock Saints 2. I was disappointed. I really loved the first one.

Signs - Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix. I had forgotten how intense the movie is. Had me on the edge of my chair and watching it again I see why. Great movie until the alien shows up - you have to have a good alien if your going to have a movie about aliens. Then it gets silly and falls apart.. real bummer geez

I loved that movie enough to get it on DVD. I love the little girl in it and
the scene with the tin foil hats is hysterical (Dr. Bamboo).

I really liked it. Dakota and Kristin both did a great job. I was really surprised that Dakota's parents would have let her do the movie, just being 16. Lots of kissing, sexual overtones and drug usage in the film. Her parents have always seemed pretty protective of her and the film roles she has done. But she really pulled it off and showed that she isn't a little girl anymore. And Kristin actually showed some great range of emotions in the film. She was believable as Joan and had the attitude down. I just wish they would have focused on Lita a little more in the film.
Saw The Runaways earlier as well and agree, especially about Kristen. When she first became attached to the project I thought that was foible. But after watching the film, that definitely changed; in my opinion she completely conformed, and like you said, had the attitude down.

Beverly Hills Cop 2 and Last Holiday. Watched them with my mom. She loves and patronizes black actors when she gets the chance, so I didn't mind watching it with her. My brother watched The Proposal downstairs by his lonesome.

It's been a while since we went to the movies and I'm so glad we finally hit upon a good one.

The Other Guys - Mark Wahlberg and Will Farrell. We and our audience laughed from beginning to end. It was darn funny. At the end when everyone gets up to leave they start with the bail out info, the TARP and Madoff schemes. Geez that was a really joy killer.

Loved it, give it a 9 out of 10 and would see it again.

The Departed. We sat through one hour and gave up. It didn't seem to go anywhere, nor make much sense, nor did it have any characters anyone could care about, they were all assholes.

I still liked it. Surprised by how Julie Benz grew on me. It needed more-->Willem Dafoe The first one was amazing. There's supposed to be a third. Hopefully Troy will get off his ass & make it happen soon.

Humanoids From The Deep. Bad shit, but hysterical. Mutant, half-fish, half-human monsters invade a small fishing town. Kill the men, impregnate the women.

    Let's see..

Supergirl: The story of Superman's mentally retarded cousin who hops in some kind of transdimensional vehicle to leave the asteroid based Argo city in search of the Omega Hedron, the little xmas ornament that apparently powers the city and was sucked out a window by accident. She ends up on earth, and meets her nemesis: Some kind of black magic practicing tranny played by Faye Dunaway whose plan for world domination is: to get a boyfriend. Seriously. So fucking stupid it hurts, but good for a chuckle.

RoboGeisha: the insane tale of a Geisha apprentice who gets kidnapped and trained to be a robotic assassin to take out the enemies of some evil corporation... but turns good, and fights evil. She has napalm guns in her hairdo, and swords that come out of her armpit. Also, a castle grows arms and legs and attempts to destroy Mt. Fuji with a nuclear bomb for some reason.
