Spinning Into Butter - "When a New England liberal arts college experiences a hate crime against one of its few black students, the school's dean of students (Parker) must respond publicly to the incident while privately confronting her own latent racism and prejudice."

First thing Sarah Jessica Parker was so thin she made Angelina Jolie look fat by comparison.

There was supposed to be a message in there some where about dealing with racism however the movie only raised more questions than it answered.

It centered to much on SJP and she wasn't believable in the role.

Last night I watched Passengers (2008) with Anne Hathaway and Patrick Wilson.

It was about a therapist helping survivors of a horrific plane crash deal with their grief. Anne was the therapist, Patrick one of her patients (of course, by now, you know they fucked). The film was very muddled and I didn't get it. I lost interest halfway and turned on my iPod and lip-synched to old Mariah songs until it was over. I liked Anne in Rachel Getting Married and Wilson in Little Children. This film was disappointing.

    The Runaways.

I really liked it. Dakota and Kristin both did a great job. I was really surprised that Dakota's parents would have let her do the movie, just being 16. Lots of kissing, sexual overtones and drug usage in the film. Her parents have always seemed pretty protective of her and the film roles she has done. But she really pulled it off and showed that she isn't a little girl anymore. And Kristin actually showed some great range of emotions in the film. She was believable as Joan and had the attitude down. I just wish they would have focused on Lita a little more in the film.

^^ is it out on DVD yet? I wanted to see The Runaways. I've discovered I'm a Dakota Fanning fan after seeing her in The Secret Life Of Bees.

^^Yes, it has been out on dvd for quite awhile now.

I enjoyed Dakota in The Secret Life of Bees as well. We really have seen her grow up before our eyes over the years on screen. She has turned into a pretty good little actress.

    thanks

I'll go see if they have it on PPV yet. I really want to like her, there are so many Lindsay Lohans in Hollywood it would be nice to see her make it.

Kick Ass. I can't believe how much I loved this movie. The little girl in it reminds of Uma Thurman in the Kill Bill movies because she really does kick ass. Nick Cage was great in it as well.

Marathon Man - Hoffman was great in this, but the film itself felt like a hodgepodge of ill-assorted and unrelated things : thwarted love affair, sibling rivalry, deceit, Nazism...

American Gigolo - I only enjoyed the clothes! Quite hollow.

^No, I haven't. But yeah, I've heard it was better.

Fatal Attraction - Glenn Close was so great in this. I ended up pitying the married guy . The ending was totally not credible, though (I know Lyne had shot quite a different ending, but had to change it due to pressure from the producers).

    Saw

I really like this one. It was a major mindfuck at the end there.

I love it too, I wasn't expecting much from it, but I really liked it.

i didn't know about the other ending, how was it supposed to end?
I really like this film too, Glenn Close is unbelievable, she really manages to make us feel sorry about her lover

Same here, I thought I would hate this movie because really, I didn't - and still don't - understand the point of that kind of movie, but somehow I really enjoyed it. There wasn't that much blood and torture after all, the plot was quite cleverly led, and the ending is really fucking you up
