I think Ruth Roman as a leading lady dragged the film down a bit; up to that point she was doing B-movie film noir and westerns. She was one of the worst Hitchcock heroines since Jane Wyman.

And they cut out a lot of Sean's scenes in that movie for some reason. I can only guess that Michael Douglas or Oliver Stone didn't like her. Darryl Hannah did look spectacular in that wetsuit, but IMO she's always had the screen presence of a stop sign.

I can see why they cut Sean's scenes. She really didn't add anything to the story. Although the kid that played Michael & Sean's kid was a fat little butterball. I laughed everytime they showed him.

And, yeah, Darryl looked good, but she couldn't do the character justice. But I think she's gotten a little better as an actress with age. I loved her in Kill Bill, Vol. 2.

But after seeing Wall Street, I'm tempted to see the sequel now.

*off to see what film she was in*

Tess. Not as wonderful as I remembered it from about 5 years ago, a bit academic overall.

eta: It was Stage Fright. Never heard of it. I've seen 15 Hitch films, but he made so many!

    The kid was rather plump.
My guess is Sean bought the crazy to the set and paid for it.

Stage Fright used to be on YouTube, don't know if it still is. And I like Jane Wyman, but she was all wrong for a Hitchcock film.

Yep, I really liked it !
Di Caprio was really good (loved the part where he speaks German !)
I loved the music (very thrilling) and the atmosphere of the movie.

And as I'm verry easy to fool I got totally taken aback by the end

I also saw The Ghost Writer yesterday.
I really enjoyed the story but I found it rather ... I don't know, "slow"? It lacked action, it wasn't catchy enough, I think I'd rather have read the book.
But Ewan McGreggor was superb as usuall !

Voyager, with Sam Shephard and Julie Delpy. Disturbing and creepy but good.

West Side Story. I'd never seen it! What a great film!! Apart from a few corny moments, Natalie Wood's accent and a few weaker actors, it was fantastic. Astoundingly good choreography. Very poignant and poweful final scene. I clapped at the end event though I was at home!

^^That whole movie makes me laugh. I HATE watching Michael Douglas do his whole sex scene schtick. He's completely unfuckable and always has been. He strikes me as the kind of guy who would shout his own name when he came.

Anyway, mr butt is making me watch some happy horseshit called Kingdom of heaven. The actors are phoning it in. Utter craptastic.

I have always despised that movie, and even moreso when I heard Douglas had forced them to change the script so his character came off as more of a victim as opposed to a total prick. Not entirely successful if you ask me. And then you had that pile of shit movie with Demi Moore in which HE, the MAN, with sexual harrassment of women running RAMPANT, is the victim of the harrassment.I loathe Michael Douglas.

Ugh- I saw that. Some of them must have needed the paychecks.

It was a waste of Jeremy Irons, and I watched the entire thing before realizing that Ed Norton was the leper king.
