Just finished The Night Porter. Damn, it could have been a powerful movie, instead it looked very amateurish. But Charlotte Rampling was so beautiful, she reminded me that i had a girl crush on her.

That was the movie that turned me onto Brando. This was also the movie that many say sent Viv over the edge.
I'm the only person in the entire world that didn't see Titanic.

I really concentrated when I was watching it and I got so sucked in by Viv. I could see it taking everything she had.

I tried District 9 too. Slimy bugs just aren't good for me. I tried to take into account what they said about the acting and the script. Hey, we can't be entertained by everything. Same went for Watchmen. Tried but couldn't do it.

I can't remember it, but I think I saw it on tv. Dirk Bogard? Black leather clothes?

I was too young then. Probably around the time of Last Tango. I had to be a cutting edge 10 year old.

Same here. One of Will Ferrell's best films, next to Anchorman.

Don't Look Now. Greatly overrated, I only liked the end.

it's like the tim burton style has been commercialised and made into movies that are tim burton in look only, but with all the darkness and originality and daring stripped off.
Tim Burtons flicks are dark (lots of blacks) but in 3D with it being dark it just seemed to make it blurred. Very few things popped out at you, the cat and the smoke but the rest just hurt my eyes. It was like out of focus.

I'm a history buff, I saw the making of the movie on TV so I knew I wanted to see the finished movie. The big build up was Leo and Kate but for me it was the special effects, and I love the Gibson era - the hair - the clothing, when Kate Winslett turns around and you see her face under that huge hat I'm blown away.

We saw it the day after Christmas with a ton of family, we stood in line for tickets in the cold and we had a great audience. It was a truly magical evening and I can count those from memory - Star Wars, The Godfather, The Exorist (and not in a good way) The Color Purple, Jurassic Park, Titanic and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Seriously? I loved that movie! So creepy! Between that and Death in Venice and most of Wings of the Dove I think that if I ever visit Venice I'll be automatically depressed.

I have seen Death in Venice. One of my faves. I cried at the end. Better than the book.

Well, Don't Look Now felt awkward to me. The acting for one was uneven.

The film positively DRAGS up until the collision with the iceberg. Then, several impressive sinking scenes could have made for poignant TV watching were almost ruined for my by the presence of Billy Zane's oceangoing interpretation of Snidely Whiplash.

I really concentrated when I was watching it and I got so sucked in by Viv. I could see it taking everything she had.
Sometimes I wonder if she would have been better off letting Jessica Tandy do the film version as well...for the sake of her own mental health.

I blame that cunty, frying pan-faced bag lady he's with.

but she's nuts! if anything, i thought that would make him unleash his crazy even more, not restrain it and churn out slick, hollywoodised tim burton 'light' versions of his movies!

i meant darkness in terms of content, not the actual colours in the film.
