waitress, again. it is so adorable; i just completely dig it. it's a definite 5 stars on netflix.

but, it makes me think of adrienne shelley's very sad & tragic death. she was just so talented.

I was going to watch it but decided to finish watching 'Raising Arizona' instead.

It was surprisingly cute and funny.

    Nic Cage does comedy well.

Too bad he's been on a string of shitty action movies lately.
i LOVE raising arizona...nicolas cage's best movie, by far. i've been quoting that movie since childhood. it seriously never gets old.

I'm watching Wild Wild West right now and I'm so bored out of my damned mind! "Morning Sickness" has been an around the clock sensation since before I peed on that stick! I've been on the couch all week, just watching one thing after another, lol. The other night it was The Mummy Returns, I'm waiting for Hackers to record on the DVR. Why the hell it's hard to find that movie is beyond me, it's horrible cheesiness and the unfortunate role that my hubby fell in love with Angelina Jolie. I'm seriously open to suggestions right now!

Ok don't get me started on Raising Arizona. ONE OF THE BEST EVER. Oh man, it doesn't get old.

Its amazing because I had such low expectations going in, I expected to be bored, I never realized the movie would have such depth and beauty. It evoked so many emotions from me, I literally just sat there the whole time, fascinated. We watched it with another couple and at the end my friend was in tears, but I was just spellbound. I will be the first to say the whole movie was ROBBED at Oscar time. Kate Winslet, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Michael Shannon put in the performances of their lifetime, just absolutely 100% brilliant. I was so pulled into their life, I just can't put it into words! The screenplay was just amazing. The scene at the dinner table with April, Frank, and John was most likely my favorite scene in any movie, his words carried such truth. When he told April that he felt sorry for Frank because the only way he could show her he had any balls was to knock her up, and the way he said "thank God I'm not that kid" I was just on the edge of my seat. Its weird because I checked imdb afterwards and so many people were like "this movie sucked because I hated so-and-so" but that was the point, they were realistic sympathetic fucked up characters who all carried a part of the blame for their lives.
Ok now I feel like I have to see this movie. I'm going to rent it asap, and let you know what I think.

ETA: Oh yeah, I forgot to add the movies I've seen recently.

The Day The Earth Stood Still- Keanu Reeves was perfect for the part he played, because he's so damn wooden. That would be sad if it weren't funny. Overall it's an ok flick.

Slumdog Millionaire- Damn good movie, and it deserved all of the attention it got.

Bride Wars- Predictable, but lighthearted and cute. Anne Hathaway annoys me even onscreen because she does a shitty job of hiding her snobbery, but Kate Hudson's charm made up for it. Definitely a movie to see on a chick flick night with your girlfriends.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua- OMG this movie was so damn cute!!! Drew Barrymore did an awesome job as the voice of Chloe. If you're into cute comedies, check this one out.

    Land of the Lost.

Mildly funny movie, but the best part was that I fell asleep right close to the end (I went alone, last show after work). I woke up to the theater being brightly lit, empty, and a guy sweeping! When I walked out, the entire theater was empty, and there were only 3 cars in the parking lot!

I just can't go back there.

Revolutinary Road was okay. Both Kate and Leo are super actors,...but I don't get the hype on this movie either. It was a story of a dysfunctial marriage,...big deal. Millions of people live this life every day. It is sad,...but happens. I don't see the *brillance* that the critics claim. *shrug*

I caught Speed when my husband was watching it. I always forget how unfuckingbelieveable Keanu looks in that movie. He's still damn good looking, but that was his peak. I wish all men looked like that!

He's even hotter in Point Break, although Swayze gives him a serious run for the money.

there can be brilliance in the 'mundane'. it doesn't all have to be epic love affairs and events that change the world. sometimes the most brilliant movies are the ones that tell human, everyday stories and delve deeply into their characters. i thought it was a beautiful, amazing film.

Ghostbusters 2, while alternating between episodes of Arrested Development, on another channel.

Phone Booth: I still love this movie.
