the critics from the tomato meter gives it a 96. There were parts I wasn't in love with but the other part more than made up for it. Our audience clapped and cheered. To me it was the movie Phantom Menace should have been. I loved the young Spock and the younger James T. Kirk was well acted.

Come on I watched Star Trek on TV and then at the movies and this movie was better than the fake monsters or fuzzy fur breeders

I think it captured the spirit of the original show and I loved it!
I think after DS9 Star Trek/First Contact - Star Trek became too drawn out and preachy and very static and stagnant. IT definitely needed a reboot. I am not saying this movie was perfect but the casting was perfect and I had my doubts especially about Pine as Kirk but I am glad its successful we need more space operas especially since the last few movies in that genre has failed especially Star Wars.

    'Sunset Boulevard'

What a cool film, I loved it. 'Mr De Mille, I'm ready for my close-up....' she's my new role model, I swear.

^^Omg, I was surprised by how sad Reign Over Me was. It had me crying.

Saw The Soloist. Pretty good, but heavy-handed Oscar bait for sure. It was an almost inspiring story of mental illness, mostly pretty depressing. Jamie Foxx was good (if a little over the top) but Robert Downey Jr. was better.

Beautiful classical music pieces to be appreciated, and I definitely don't usually appreciate that sort of thing. Beware epileptics, there's a part where the music is accompanied by a loooong sequence of blinking colored lights. I had to look away.

Dr Zhivago. Didn't like Julie Christie in it, but otherwise a potent movie. Ought to read Pasternak's novel.

"No country for old Men" - I liked it. Javier Bardem was really great as the assassin.

Remember when Star Trek was dignified, stately and had an air of grandeur about it? Yeah, not so much anymore. Just all whizbang effects for the Myspace crowd who have the attention spans of goldfish.

The more I think about it, the more annoyed I get.

Based on that alone you should start a movie review blog. That's the best one I've ever read and will keep me from seeing the film...not that I probably was going to anyway but still...

Ravenous with Guy Pearce. Not bad. I was in the mood for cannibals.
