    ugh...

    City of Ember.

I mean, really? The amount of things that made me roll my eyes in this movie were almost innumerable.

    1) The world is ending, so people build an underground city to house what seems to be a few thousand people, and set a box with the key to get out to open in 200 years.

    2) THEY MAKE ESCAPING THE UNDERGROUND CITY THE MOST ARDUOUS, UNSAFE, AND RIDICULOUS EXERCISE once people figure it out. Something to do with lockers turned into canoes. I shit you not.

    3) To get out of the city, you basically have to destroy it by flooding. Um, ok. So while trying to get to the outside world, 50% of the city population probably dies in the attempt. Really?

    4) The cinematographer should be shot. Way to light everything so it seems like a low budget after school special.

    5) wtf was bill murray and tim robbins doing in this?

Talk to Her, again. I love the last forty minutes of this film, I usually skip through the first half. Its such a dynamic film, raises so many questions. I love that a character that can do something so awful still comes off as likable, or sympathetic. Just a very sad film.

Crazy Love, a documentary about Burt and Linda Purgach. It was insane. For those of you who don't know them, Burt hired someone to throw acid onto Linda's face in 1959. She had found out he was married with a kid and refused to keep seeing him and was getting married to someone else. He basically said, if I can't have you, I'll make it so no one else will want you. After he went to prison, he kept writing (stalking) her, she was blind in one eye and disfigured. Later she lost her vision completely. In 1974 when he was out of prison, they ended up getting married. She testified on his behalf in 1997 when he was accused of sexually abusing and threatening another woman, who he said he was just sleeping with. His wife, I guess, was okay with all of this. Like she said in the movie, "who knows where their husbands are all the time?" The movie was so fucked up in so many ways, you have to see it to believe it. Whats most fucked up is that people were encouraging her to meet up with him again and "give him another chance". The guy is a major asshole of the highest order. I heard that he's suing the director of the movie now because he said he was somehow misled about the content, even though he gave it a glowing review at Sundance. He was so creepy to watch because you know you are watching a true sociopath, and sometimes he came off so...normal. I would recommend it if people are interested in the story and like slow-moving documentaries.

The Incredibles: I still love that movie.

Disturbia: A lot better than I thought it would be. And Shia LaDouche wasn't as annoying as I thought he would be. Who would think a movie about being under home arrest would be that interesting?

Not the original? I loved the original, but loathed the remake. Oh, and dying to see Crazy Love. I may have to buy it since I doubt it will ever make it to these shores.

Last movie was another crap Bond film. Hate Bond films.

Yes, the movie by Antonioni. I'd seen the remake earlier.
