I watched two movies that ended up being a waste of time. The Dying Gaul and I Am Legend.

The Dying Gaul had good acting, but the plot had some twists that didn't make any sense, and the ending was just stupid.

I Am Legend wasn't anywhere as good as I thought it would be, and the ending seemed contrived.

Documentary on the Sundance Channel called The Friedmans. Can't recommend it enough. It goes into the complexities of the dad's pathologies, the way truth morphs over time, the legal process, and what's been called "hysteria" around the case. It's a fantastic treatment of ambiguity in so many ways.
"I ransacked his drawers when he left me by myself at his place for the first time. That's how we did it in the good old days. Tells me all I need to know about him. He pretends he didn't notice. That's how good relationships start." - Chilly Willy

    Sweenie Todd

Johnny Depp was really good and I'm not a Depp fan. I couldn't understand Helena Bonham Carter's first song, I didn't get one word she sang. Alan Rickman didn't thrill me either, neither of the close ups of his teeth. Burton is big on unbrushed teeth.

The plot was done way to many times, only a few songs were actually any good.

Call me wimp but I couldn't deal with the blood, I spent way to much time with my fingers in front of my eyes.

Yes I Am Legend was disappointing to me too. They changed a lot from the book, including the ending.

I watched The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (Why the long title geez) I was surprised by Pitt's acting. He was very believable as a cold blooded sociopath. Casey Affleck was very good as well.

I tried to watch 'The Assasination of Jesse James etc, etc' but I only got through the first 15 minutes. It seemed kind of dull. But maybe I'll give it another try.

The Golden Compass - after giving this piece of crap 15 minutes I thought "what the heck it has to get better" It didn't. Then it didn't end, I guess they were hoping for GCredux. Geez.

The Godfather - I hadn't seen it in a long time. I loved Marlon Brando but now as I watch him wipe the spit off his jowls it all seems a bit silly. Another movie thats just meh for me now. sigh

Bait with Jaime Foxx. Better than I thought it would be.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Great film. Paul Newman, Elizabeth Taylor and Burl Ives did some top-notch acting.

Dark Knight. Loved Heath Ledger's performance, but overall, the movie just seemed to go on and on and on...

Jumper. The movie was a good action/sci-fi popcorn movie, even though the plot had multiple holes in it. And Hayden Christiansen still can't act, and the white wig they gave Samuel L. Jackson to wear should have been its own character.
