just went to see 'waltz with bashir'. fucking amazing. it's an israeli animated documentary about the 1982 sabra and shatila massacre in lebanon but more specifically about the filmmaker's quest to recover his memory of the events (he was a 20 year-old soldier at the time). it is absolutely beautiful, compelling, harrowing, well written, simply brilliant.

    the Man Who Cried
w/ Christina Ricci, Johnny Depp and Cate Blanchett

Good movie, Cate Blanchetts accent sucks big time and her acting isn't all that but Ricci and Depp pull the movie off. Ricci plays a Jew and Depp a Gypsie. It's not the first time I've seen those two together and they seem to crush on each other. Hot love scenes. I'll watch it again.

The Other Boleyn Girl, it was kind of meh for me. It was just way too short for the material that exists. They had to cram like 300 pages of story into the last 30 minutes. It needed to be a longer movie. I much prefer the Tudors since it has more time to dedicate to the whole story and not a 30 second montage to illustrate huge passages of time.

Adding that one to the list. Thanks.

Midnight Cowboy. Those Voight lips have some major DNA power. The last scene is just one of the best.

S.O.B by Blake Edwards. I had no memory of this film.
All star cast, black comedy. Hollywood moguls, Malibu, drugs, orgies, dirty old men with young chicks. A very young, topless Rosanna Arquette, saucy Shelley Winters and Robert Vaughan in a red lace teddy and garters. A pre- Weekend At Bernie's ending. This is the movie where Julie Andrews bares "the girls". Nice one's too.

The last scene of Midnight Cowboy makes me cry no matter how many times I watch it.

I'm trying to watch Eyes Wide Shut but I am repulsed by Tom Cruise trying to act studly with Nicole Kidman. It's creepy as hell.

^^That one is pure torture. Follow it up by Vanilla Sky and you'll need an ice pack for your head and Pepto Bismol for your stomach.

Vanilla Sky is one I've studiously avoided. Tom and Cameron together = nightmares for days. I'm about to turn this one off before I start throwing things at the screen.

The Notebook- I never watched the whole thing all the way through until tonight. It was ok, but not as good as I expected.

Some really cheesy b movie called 'Mannequin' with Kim Cattrall starring as a mannequin who comes to life. I only watched it because Estelle Getty is in it - and she was such a fox back in the day!

Have you seen "The Champ?" Awsome tear jerker with John Voight and Ricky Schroeder. I cried my heart out, but it is a wonderful movie and little Ricky should have been nominated for an Oscar for his role.
