Which is probably why she was nominated at the ALFS , the IFTA, the Golden Globes, the BAFTA, the Empire Awards and the Satellite Awards...right.
As for what I've seen since yesterday:
- Meet the Robinsons => a plot-hole filled Back To The Future-ey story whihc tells us that apparently, everyone in the future is crazy. This has been hailed as the best Walt Disney animated feature to come out in long time, but I disagree. Sure, it's ok, but not that great.
- Le Scaphandre Et Le Papillon => Wow, Julian Schnabel's film about Jean-Dominique Bauby is amazing, possibly even better than Alejandro Amenabar's Mar Adentro, on a similar subject. An Oscar win for best director would be well deserved. Superb.
- Barry Lyndon, by Stanley Kubrick (1975) => A masterpiece by a masterful director, which I was lucky enough to watch at the cinema. A grand, grand film.

Is this film school? Who said I was going for nuance? As if that were a requirement for having a valid opinion. But no, that was just another way of looking down on someone else's opinion.

Are you channeling Tom Cruise or something? You're condescending and you don't even know it. Just because you say there is "mastery" in something doesn't make it so. And "too bad for you?" Way to imply someone isn't as intelligent as you think you are, or doesn't know what they're talking about if they don't agree with you.

It's not the disagreement of opinion I have a problem with. Lots of posters all disagree with one another, and they can usually do it without being rude, arrogant or self-important and and sniffing how it's too bad others can't see the "mastery" they see because they know what they're talking about. Um, she spit the words out as quickly as she possibly could with zero emotion whatsoever and you could barely understand the words she was saying. I have liked her in other things, but she was terrible in this movie. It was laughable, literally. There were times when the people in the theater laughed whenever she spoke, and nothing she was saying was intentionally funny. She doesn't deserve any award for this role, she needs to learn how to deliver her lines and remove the marbles from her mouth before she speaks.

That's disappointing to hear; I definitely want to see this and generally do enjoy Keira - though by no means is she always at the top of her game. Oh well, I'll wait for the DVD. 
Just watched Lars and the Real Girl here. I don't even quite know what to say about it, lol. I did like it - there was one scene that just made me melt, and Ryan Gosling was terrific in it. I really enjoyed a lot of the secondary/tertiary characters as well. But it's definitely an odd little film.

At home: The Queen. I liked Helen Mirren's performance, she was believable, I did not care that much for the storyline to be honest.
At the cinema: Sweeney Todd. I liked it! I was disappointed by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but Sweeney made up for that, now I'm looking forward to the upcoming Burton movies again.

Brokeback Mountain.
It was very sad watching it and knowing Ledger is gone. Very sad. 
The one part of that movie that always bugs me is the dinner scene after Ennis and Alma broke up. The girls are bigger and she's remarried and obviously pregnant, so you know it's been a while. Yet, she has to bring up those fishing trips, and then acts all uppity and outraged when he gets mad. Why the fuck is she even talking about it after all this time? I almost wish he would have punched her.

i hated her character in that scene too bt i think the only reason she did it was because she was still in love with him and could never forgive him for not loving her back. you can tell that while she's content with the new husband, she didn't have even a tenth of the adoration she had for ennis.
michelle williams puts in one hell of a performance in this movie.

Why bother starting to watch it then, if you don't like romantic comedies and/or Catherine Zeta-Jones? Aside from that, No Reservations is one of the best romantic comedies of 2007, and Scott Hicks is one of the finest directors working today, according to me. His images, in this film and his others, are superb.
No well I did not finish it. I wanted something light and 'nice' this movie...
I did not find it romantic nor a comedy. I never dislikes CZJ but she was not even trying, so unbelievable.
In my quest to find a good comedy
Someone to eat cheese with. found it a waste of time so my quest is still going on.
I am waiting for Sweeny Todd do not want like to watch it by myself. I need someone to hide behind if it is too gruesome

What, slit necks and spraying blood aren't your thing? There's a lot of that in Sweeney Todd. They must have used a swimming pool full of fake blood for it all.

The blood and gore in Sweeney Todd did not look realistic at all. It was all more fake looking than gruesome, so no need to be scared, it wasn't that bad.

Yes he was. I got to see the one with Laurence Olivier and even though I loved it, there will never be a better Mr. Darcy than Colin Firth for me.
