If her ego wasn't in play she would've realized that taking the role of Miss One, letting Stephanie Mills do the damn thing. Watching it also reminded me how under-rated Mabel King was...that woman could scat like nobody's business(no bad news should be Hillary's theme song ). Michael was ever so awesome!!

Picture it: Alien chasing terrified guy through a corn field, guy spins around, screams into the alien's face, spit spraying as he does...
What's spit? Mainly WATER. And so we have aliens, aliens that you can spit on to get rid of. If only pedofiles were that easy to take out...

And really, simply being in our atmosphere would cause them to melt.. can you imagine them in south asia with the humidity? How about in London with the fog?
Wtf would they do when it rained? Why would they kidnap people made from 80% water?
WHY WOULD THEY INVADE A PLANET THAT WAS 79% WATER!?
Fucking stupid movie.

^^ Jaoquin was hot tho, and the acting was surprisingly good all round, IMHO. Too bad about the plot.

I just couldn't fathom why this very mediocre movie won so many Oscars, proving once again that most awards shows are little more than popularity contests. I liked Dennis Lehane's book, and I even liked some of the performances in the film but overall, it was a dud. Yet Clint Eastwood cleaned up.

I tried to watch "Letters from Iwo Jima" by clint Eastwood and the directing is just.. bleh. I didn't even get through the movie itself. It was just bland. How can you fuck up the invasion of Iwo Jima, one of the most brutal and insane battles in WW2? It was like a made for tv special.

Yep, I'd heard about all the awards and saw grandiose quotes on the DVD: "The definitive modern American film!", "The best film you'll see this year!".
After watching it, my reaction was mostly "...really?".
I think that once a movie gains a certain reputation of greatness, many tend to parrot the assessment for fear of not being with the times, or even actually convince themselves that they enjoyed it (See also: the Blair Witch Project).

I thought the Blair Witch Project was great.
Lots of people didn't because, frankly, they weren't able to use their imaginations. I swear to god, 95% of the people that saw it and hated it cited the fact that you never saw the witch as the problem.
I mean come on people. Use your fucking brains. Not everything needs a big CG monster to stomp around in full view.
