Started to watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning the other night but switched it off as it was sooooo boring. Why dont they make good horror films anymore?

The Departed. One of the lamest Martin Scorcese movies, ever. Proof positive that he got the award for a not very good movie because he didn't get it for several great ones -- Mean Streets, Raging Bull, Goodfellas.

OK, since you were in the biz I respect your opinion... humph. Just when I was getting ready to surrender to renting it.

My sister saw the Departed and said it was amazing, one of the best movies she's seen. You should watch it and decide for yourself, Mira, it may be worth it.

OK well since everyone seems to like it, I guess I would too. Though I think PB is probably right about the other movies.

The Departed is okay but I think Mean Streets is much more Oscar-worthy. You should def rent it for yourself and see it.
Anyway I went and saw Black Snake Moan. What a freaky-deeky movie. heh

The Crying Game, for the first time actually. Unfortunately I already knew the 'twist', but it was very enjoyable nonetheless.

Yes, I thought it was great. maybe not his best, but it was very entertaining. Everyone gave great performances. jack's was a little sub-par though, imo.
I watched The Prestige. kind of ho-hum. If not for the pretty of Hugh Jackman it would have been very boring.
Also Babel. It was very good. Similar to Crash. I was disappointed in Brad's performance. I've read it was suppose to be one of his better ones, but I didn't see it. I'm convinced that he really is a lousy actor. Only a former pretty face.

Last movie I saw was 'Babel'. I rented it 2 nights ago and I really liked it. It was realistic and well put together. The ending left you hanging, (that I didn't like), but overall it was wonderfully made. You literally felt like you were the characters and you empathized with all of them. When a film can make you do that, it's damn good.
I like Alejandro Gonzalez Iņarritu's movies...he always has lessons in his films that leave you thinking. His movies have this sort of moral conscience to them and that's a pretty amazing thing to accomplish.
'Babel' is a great, great movie and worth seeing.
