^hahaha, and then mary goes 'isnt that a little politically incorrect' and he goes 'no one's gonna tell me who I can and can't work with' and 'Those goofy bastards are about the best thing I've got going' Yep, that was a movie actually worth the hype.

A German film, The Lives of Others. It won the Oscar for best foreign film last year. It's an excellent movie about artists in East Germany and the Stasi (secret police) before the wall fell. Well-written, well-acted -- truly engrossing.

Yep, that movie was worth the hype and still holds up. I've seen it a couple of times in the last few weeks. And none of the people in it have made a better movie since, especially Cameron Diaz. Although Ben Stiller came close with Dodgeball. 'If you can dodge traffic, you can dodge a ball.'

'PS I Love You' with Hilary Horsefae Swank.
Not the best movie to see when you're depressed and drunk... and in the company of another depressed and equally drunk person.

'there's something about mary' is hilarious, and i agree, it has held up well over the years. the only mainstream comedy i can think of that is just as politically incorrect and wrong is 'me, myself and irene', which i also love even though i usually hate jim carrey's brand of stupid slapstick humour.

I think it's Stiller's best effort so far, my fave of his anyway.
Liked it enough to add it to my DVD collection

Juno.
Loved it!
I'll buy that one when it's on dvd, just to hear that wonderful, quick dialogue again.
Oh, and Jason Bateman has a fairly small part, but it's the first time I saw him as kinda "sexy".
