Dreamgirls. Finally saw it on HBO. Great movie. Avoided it up until now because I didn't want to have to watch Beyonce for two hours. But not only didn't she annoy me, but she looked good and did a pretty good acting job. Got to give credit where credit is due.
But, overall, Beyonce's still annoying. And Jennifer Hudson, definitely, stole that movie.

went to a movie marathon at a local cinema that was having a free movie sunday, free movies and snacks and drinks from 10 in the morning on. i started at noon, saw a great korean movie for the third time (3-iron), a takeshi kitano ('dolls') that was very beautiful but very boring, so much i even feel asleep during parts of it. then saw another favourite, 'ghost dog', and the last one was 'i'm not there' for the 2nd time.

Pulp Fiction- I really like it, but I can never really stomach what happens to Ving Rhames in that one scene.

I saw I Am Legend. It was good, Big Willy never disappoints on screen at least.

30 days of night. I found out I still don't like Josh Hartnett and I fell asleep near the end. The boyfriend said it was good so I'll take his word for it.

War of the Worlds (2005) Dakota screamed..a lot. Tim Robbins played crazy rather well. VERY suspenseful in a high budget computer graphics kinda way (but still not anywhere near as great as Alien(s)).
I have decided that as weird as he is, and gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide as he may appear to be... Tom Cruise is still smokin' hot.

Yeah, I love Pulp Ficton. Although Tarantino's excessive use of the N-word I could've done without. But, otherwise, I love the movie.
And, yeah, the Ving Rhames scene is still tough to watch. But I love his quote after it "we're gonna get medieval on his ass."

I just can't stand rape scenes and Tarantino seems to use them a decent bit. I mean there's Kill Bill and in Death Proof that one chick was supposed to be raped by that hick with the Dodge. Plus he played a pervert in From Dusk til Dawn and a rapist in Planet Terror.
Has he ever gotten in trouble for using that word a lot? I mean he uses it like no other in all his films it seems. I think Tarantino is a bit racist IMO.

Yeah, Tarantino's gotten ripped for the way he constantly uses the N-word in his films, especially Pulp Fiction. He addressed it and gave some half-ass explanation on why he does it. I think he said it had something to do with the fact that he grew up watching 'blaxploitation' films and it's his way of paying tribute to them or some b.s.

I watched it this morning on HBO, even though I have it on DVD!! They were all great in that movie. I still think that there were parts where JH screamed, but did an awesome job...as did Jennifer Holiday when she played Effie on Broadway...She to achieved awards...it's the character..it's a role that will make you!! Beyonce's character was the bitch, and we all know who "Deena" was portraying here..so who could like her or the original bitch.... YouTube - And I am telling you I'm not going J. Holliday & J. Hudson
Jennifer Holiday or Hudson??

Yeah, I caught that somewhere and I though it was BS also.. Blaxploitation films are called that for a reason.

Yeah, all I could think of was Diana Ross when I saw 'Deena' and Florence Ballard when I saw 'Effie.' But the movie was really good. I'm going to have to buy that DVD. And you're right, the role of Effie will make you a star if you play it right. And Beyonce really surprised me in the movie, like I said. She was pretty good.
And the fake Jackson 5 was hysterical. And Eddie Murphy should have won an Oscar for 'Jimmy.' But he screwed that up by having that dumbass movie Norbert come out around awards season. Nobody in their right mind could give him an Oscar with that crap out.

Have Smoke seen this.. I've had the DVD since it was released, saw the movie several times!! The fake J5 should have let anyone clueless person know who the play, book, and movie was based on!! I loved this movie and all the characters...except Jamie Foxx's character!!
Yes, Eddie lost that Oscar all on his own with Norbit, was was a hot mess!

I saw I am Legend Saturday, but tonight my husband and I popped Strange Brew into the DVD. I know it's stupid humor, but i laughed my ass off.
