The Lonely Hearts Murders. It was really good, a little gruesome. Based on a true story. John Travolta and James Gandolfini worked well together.

Watched Fracture last night. Anthony Hopkins was awesome! And I am officially in love with Ryan Gosling!

Finally got around to checking out Superman Returns. Pretty good. And better than I expected. The special effects were perfect, even though the story had some holes in it. The kid Brandon Routh makes a good Superman, but Christopher Reeve will always own that role. The biggest issue I had with it was that Clark Kent and Superman both disappear for five years, come back at the same time, and nobody, especially Lois Lane, bothers to question it. But we're suppose to believe that Lois gets a Pulitzer Prize for journalism?

I saw "Halloween" yesterday, and thought it wasn't so bad.
The most interesting thing to me was how they cast so many actors who were actually "ugly" without the use of makeup or prosthetics. Not freakish, but really bad skin, horrible wrinkles, etc.
It was not as "campy" as the old Halloween movies, and had a much more "evil" feel about it.

Has anyone by chance seen the 3:10 Yuma movie? I've seen many previews for it.

I want to see it for sure
Watched Fur: Another pick by my girlfriend. Same guy that directed Secretary. It was okay. The endng was a bit lame. Nicole Kidman is pretty good, Robert Downey Jr. less so. I would have had someone scarier in his part. It's a surreal/fairy tale about Diane Arbus. Unless she interests you, I wouldn't recommend it.

I saw Stranger than Fiction yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. I've had Netflix send it to me a few times and always sent it back unwatched because I HATE Will Ferrel and couldn't bring myself to watch one of his movies. I finally did and really liked it. He was surprisingly restrained throughout the entire movie and I enjoyed the entire thing, and it's another fantastic Maggie Gyllenhaal role (which is what ultimately made me watch it, I LOVE her).
I also read on IMDB that Emma Thompson wore absolutely no makeup in the movie. I love her, she is completely unafraid to just be "ugly" in the roles she plays and I completely respect her for it because I can't think of too many other actresses who would be willing to do the same. Anyone who doesn't believe me should go watch Wit (warning: you WILL sob through huge portions of that movie, it's heartbreaking).

I love Emma Thompson, she kicks ass.
I'm in my bedroom with the computer and the tv on and My Best Friends Wedding is playing. This movie makes me smile. I cant believe how gorgeous Julia Roberts is in it.
