Severance
It was good (if you like gory horror movies), for it's genre I'd give it a 4/5. It was like the English version of "The Office," "Deliverance" and "Saw" mixed with an egg beater.

Batman Returns - my favorite Batman movie by far. Michelle Pfeiffer kicked ass as Catwoman.

Things we lost in the fire.
Halle Berry and Benicio Del Torro. I normally stray away from anything with Halle in it, but this was actually a really, really good movie.

The Ruins
It was pretty entertaining. Cover your eyes disturbing in a couple scenes, which I haven't felt the need to do for years. The biggest problem was the so very fake looking "killer vines", more specifically the leaves, which look like a really bad cartoon version of MaryJane.

I haven't seen the movie, but I read the book. I wasn't terribly impressed. I was okay with it until the vines started talking and then it just became stupid. I also hated the ending. It was like the author suddenly realized he was writing shit and gave up. I mean, at least try to redeem yourself by thinking up an interesting finish. Gawd!

Hero Wanted - It was pretty good. I am not a Cuba fan but actually made it throught the movie.
Mr. Brooks - I enjoyed it. I am not a Cosner fan either (he does too many baseball movies, haha), but I really enjoyed it. I was kinda long but worth watching.
Death Sentence - I liked it but I didn't care for the ending.

i loved both. i already posted about the darjeeling limited (flawed but works so well and is so endearing that you forget the faults) but i think hotel chevalier is brilliant. it's a great short film and in some ways it's more difficult to get it right in a short movie than in a full-length. hotel chevalier really works.
i heard that in the US they didn't show both films together, is that true? here they start with hotel chevalier and then the darjeeling.
