Grimm I enjoyed it because I prepared for it, did not expect anything but overkill digital effects for 2 hours...
I guess doctor JACK is perfect as Speedracer lost bro.... I want to buy it in BLUERAY ASAP....

P.S. I Love You
Major tear jerker I cried through the entire movie. It was very good and Gerald Butler is hot!

Watched 'The Hunt for Red October' for literally the 100th time last night on TBS.
I still love that movie.

Seriously? Even if it's a remake, Cameron Crowe did an outstanding job, adding layers of subtle symbolism through image & sound, which the original didn't have.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Breakdown (1997), by Jonathan Mostow, at home => On a cross-country road trip, Kurt Russell gets his wife kidnapped by a gang of redneck truckers. A solid 90s thriller, good stuff.
Anaconda (1997), by Luis Llosa, at home => Mmmh, not much to say here. It's enjoyable if you're into this kind of thing. It's also all kinds of unrealistic. Seriously these guys have to be the least prepared film crew in the universe... The most interesting thing, I believe is that they elected to use voice artist extraordinaire Frank Welker as the "voice" of the anaconda instead of recording snake sounds...
Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach (1988), by Alan Myerson, on DVD => Somewhat watchable. The same old tired unfunny jokes, and a couple of somewhat funny and downright stupid new ones (like the Jaws scene). A few shots from the final "chase sequence through the Everglades" scene were actually really impressive. But all-in-all I guess there's a problem with the movie when you're rooting for the bad guys.
Waitress, at home => My second time watching this. I still don't know if it deserves all the praise it got, but one thing's for sure, as far as pregnancy movies go, this one has a lot more emotion than that suckfest, Juno.

What Happens in Vegas - loved it! I'm glad I didn't listen to the critics. It was very cute, very funny; ok, it was predictable, but who cares. I really enjoyed it.

I watched I Am Legend again this weekend. I sympathize now with all those who said they didn't like it the first time around, because it really doesn't hold up under multiple viewings.

Took my son to see Speed Racer; yes it was an assault upon the eyes. Doctor Jack has an odly shaped face outside of Lost.
Regarding competent writing are you talking about Speed Racer or the film industry in general? Film industry in general then I can totally understand a disappointment with the lack of quality.

I want to see this. I really enjoy both Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz in everything they've done so far. I'm glad to hear that someone actually saw it and liked it because the critics all slammed it. But they usually do that with comedies and chick flicks, which are usually the movies I like best!

I just got back from taking the boys to see Speed Racer. I wanted to gouge out my own eyes. Its like being trapped in a bag of Skittles for two hours.

Yes, yes it is... and if you don't do hallucinogenics then it's totally no fun... I sat it out with my son; it was cute and over 2 hours long, omfg... but still it served its purpose.

Yeah me too! Thats why I went, and didn't care that it would be predictable; it helped that I didn't see any previews or read much about it though. Ashton is a great actor, he plays stupid without being annoying in my opinion, and he's so funny in this movie. Cameron sort of over-acts in it, but it could be how her character was meant to be played. But I get a nice feeling watching her; haha, weird! But true.
Anyway, definately go see it, it's a great little movie. I read a review that said 'I didn't laugh once' and I didn't like the sound of that, but I had a sore stomach from laughing!
