i loved i'm no there. i think it definitely helps that i love dylan and i think that helps with all the references.
as for the different actors playing the same character, it's true palindromes did it but lynch did it before that in 'lost highway' and i'm pretty sure others have done it before.
i don't mean to ramble but i just really loved this, it's the best movie i've seen in a year. but i think because it was labelled an 'arty' film a lot of people didn't see it. it's really accessible though, not pretentious and deliberately oblique or confusing. it's just a great biography because it doesn't try to be one. it's the anti 'walk the line' and anti- every other biopic that tries to be as close to reality as it can. he's not trying to tell the 'real' bob dylan story but instead went with 6 bob dylan characters made up of all the bits of rock legend, official biography, folklore, rumour, gossip, plus all the different phases of dylan, his writings, and a lot of haynes' own creation based on all this. and yes, cate blanchett is simply amazing and scarily brilliant in this.

No Country for Old Men. I'm shocked by how good it was. It deserved every Oscar it won and maybe a couple more besides.

Javier Bardem was incredible, but I'm surprised Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee didn't get much props, they were great too,.

The Other Boleyn Girl - I did not enjoy it that much. The actors switched their English accents on and off which bothered me throughout the movie. I thought the costumes and visuals were very beautiful, some gorgeous nature shots, but overall I expected more from this , I was bored at times. The *spoiler* scene where Anne Boleyn almost committs incest with her brother creeped me out, so did those childbirth scenes . Also there seemed to be a plot hole into which Marys first husband fell, or maybe I just missed that part.

Also, I haven't read the novel yet ,I might give it a try in the future, from the trailer and the title I expected the movie to be about Mary Boleyn, but it primarily focused on Anne.

10.000 BC - My friend dragged me along, I did not want to see this movie. I expected it to be total rubbish, which it was, no suprises and probably the ultimate stereotypical blockbuster action-adventure film but it was also entertaining in a campy way. The kind of movie you can whisper throughout, and you will still get the plot even if you don't pay attention. Maybe because my expectations were so low in the first place I did not cringe so much. I don't need to see it again though.

Oh come one, seriously? I'll admit I'm biased when it comes to John Tucker, but the worst movie? There's like a gazillion worse movies! I'm guessing you haven't seen Zabriskie Point, Cloverfield, Kisna: The Warrior Poet, Catwoman, Fantastic Four, Jumper, Date Movie, Dorm Daze, My Super-Ex Girlfriend, The Haunting, The Musketeer, Rumor Has It..., Soul Food, anything by Uwe Boll or Paul W.S. Anderson let alone the holiday classic Santa Claus Conquers The Martians, etc, etc....

Now what I've seen (yeah I know, it's been a while, but I'm no longer on holiday):

Jumper, at the cinema => I went to see this with rather low expectations as everyone I know who's seen it has badmouthed, and I still came out somewhat disappointed. People have been piling on Hayden and Rachel's "awful acting" as the problem, but I disagree. Their acting is fine, if not amazing, and the whole cast does a decent-to-good job. The problem lies partly with the fact that the action scenes could have been done a whole lot better (what happened Doug Liman?) and mostly with incredibly lazy screenwriting courtesy mainly of Simon Kinberg (let's check: xXx2, X-Men 3,... yup, we have our man!). Indeed, the film doesn't have nearly enough backstory, exposition and closure...The guy just "jumps". At the very least, Jumper confirms a few things: Rachel Bilson is really a nobody (the credits: Hayden Christensen...Samuel L. Jackson...and Jamie Bell...JUMPER...Rachel Bilson... ), Jamie Bell sure has grown since Billy Elliot and AnnaSophia Robb has a very bright future ahead of her if.

Wild Bill (1995), by Walter Hill, on DVD => Um...ok...this one was f-ing weird, I couldn't make much sense out of it. I mean sure, I got the general plot, but the movie itself didn't make much sense.

About Schmidt (2002), by Alexander Payne, at home => The film is well made, but I don't know if I'd really recommend this pretty depressing American middle-class tale. Payne's similar segment in Paris Je T'Aime was a lot more effective, in my opinion.

Om Shanti Om, by Farah Khan, on DVD => This reincarnation-based romantic dramedy was a huge success in cinemas, but I failed to get al the hype and positive buzz. There were a few somewhat funny bits but it was pretty uninteresting overall.

Cloverfield, at the cinema => Ugh, a complete cinematic turd. No offense to those who liked it but this movie has nothing. It's just an overhyped crapfest, an already strong top contender for my "Worst Movies Of 2008" list. I always stay till the credits finish rolling, and here I had to literally force myself to stay in my seat. I felt like booing at the screen. It's really weird though. It seems that there are periods where I mostly watch good to really good films (like a couple of weeks ago) and periods were they all happen to be shit or mediocre or uninteresting (like now).

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street, at the cinema => A good film. Well made. Just not great. Certainly better than Burton's last (the craptastic Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, watch the Gene Wilder one instead), but I think that Burton's movies these days are "too Burton" (which was a big problem in Corpse Bride, for example). You just feel that he's done before, and better too. That being said, once again, it's well made. Some of the songs are pretty catchy (Johanna, Pirelli's Miracle Elixir), the acting is good, the whole affair is well done... It just doesn't have that something which propels it upwards. I don't think it would make my Top 10 of 2007. Maybe my Top 20, but I'm not sure either.

I just watched Scream yesterday and am making my way through the trilogy. I love those movies.
