No, but i've read that it's better. I should check that out next. I've read people comparing the plots and being dissapointed The Departed wasn't anything like it.

Isn't Tyler Perry responsible for the monstrosity that is Madea's Family Reunion? That craptastic movie was on TV the other day and I watched it, it was horrible (that woman Lisa was hot, though). If he's so awesome, maybe I should give another movie a chance, I swore I never would again after watching MFR, but maybe it was a fluke.

I just watched Eastern Promises. It was pretty good, the best part was seeing Viggo's interesting bits. Naomi Watts was a surprise, I don't care for her much, but she did a decent job.

At the cinema: "I'm not there" - Very arty, pretty confusing since I actually don't know that much about the real Bob Dylan. Cate Blanchett was amazing, I thought she was really hot as Dylan, I like the androgynous look. Overall I liked this movie, however I feel it was inspired by "Palindromes" who did the several actors playing the same character thing first?
At home: "The last King of Scotland"- Finally saw it, it's a great movie, and very interesting too! Forest Whitaker was amazing as Amin, he deserved the Oscar for his performance. The torture scene was pretty awful....ouch!

Awake. What is up with all movies being crap lately? Boring stupid, ugh and add Jessica Alba, just a mess. Blerg.
I have No Country for Old Men coming in the mail, so I hope it's good.

You hated Madea's Family Reunion? I loved that movie. Tyler Perry always makes me laugh when he plays Madea. And Lynn Whitfield, and her gigantic forehead, were the combo mother/bitch from HELL.
But don't let one movie turn you off to Tyler's movies. You should check out Why Did I Get Married. Every married person I know says that they saw their relationship in one of the couples in the movie.

Here's a list of the last movies i've seen:
L'appartement - interesting French movie with a disturbing twist.
There Will Be Blood - i didn't really like this. There was not much of a plot. But the performances were excellent. DDL deserved his Oscar, but Paul dano should have been nominated as well imo.
No Country For Old Men - an extremely tense and good thriller. Javier Bardem is good as the assassin.
Hit Man - a fun movie. I loved it.
Charlie Bartlett - so good. Not your typical High School movie and quite funny. Tyler Hilton (he was in ONe Tree Hill) was good in this. I didn't recognise him. Robert Downey Jnr should be a bigger star imo.
All The Boys Love Mandy Lane - formuliac thriller - not good. Don't even think of renting this on DVD - utter crap...
The Invisible - quite good movie; i loved the way they filmed this. You see events from the hero's point of view and other peoples.

Karla.
A large portion of this movie is supposedly based on stuff Karla Homolka wrote to her psychologist while in prison, so of course the whole thing is slanted to make her look like a victim. Indeed, throughout the entire movie, she keeps saying ad nauseam that she only went along with everything because she loved Paul so much and she wanted to keep him. Give me a break.
Casting for this movie was a bit strange as well. The real Karla was fairly small and the actress was quite tall. And, again, the actress wasn't true to Homolka's actual character and played her as weak and spineless. The guy portraying Paul Bernardo tried too hard to come off as being creepy and a player ... nothing like Bernardo was in real life. For crying out loud, people, did you not do any research beforehand?
With the right actors and a good script, this huge Canadian crime story had great potential. Unfortunately, it completely missed the mark ... by about ten miles.

No Country For Old Men...Javier Bardem was amazing in it. Great film. I was on the edge of my seat throughout.

Didn't Laura Pepon (sp) from 'That 70s Show' play Karla? I thought it was odd casting, how'd the Jersey girl pull of a Canuck accent?
