We do this too. DS and I are watching Lost and Wonder Years. Before that we watched the entire series of Friday Night Lights. I started watching Bones on Netflix to catch up, and then started watching it on TV. There is a TV show from the UK called The IT Crowd that is hilarious. And speaking of hilarious, we watched Arrested Development twice.

We love Netflix. I think we'll try to watch Northern Exposure next (after Lost).

I did NipTuck on Netflix. I have a ton saved, just no time to watch.

Waterslide, if you like Blackadder you'll probably like Black Books. Both of the main characters are sarcastic misanthropes, although Black Books is a bit more surreal and Bernard Black is more slovenly than Blackadder.

ETA: FYI, there are full episodes of Black Books up on youtube.

currently I've been watching Amazing Stories

Steven Spielberg was behind this fantasy/sci-fi series that lasted just 2 seasons

I really wish it had lasted longer

I'm going to check it out tonight! For some reason I was thinking it was only available on Netflix Canada, but I see they've got Series 1-3!

Dylan Moran's standup is also great.

I think I'm the board's resident XF nut. When I first started working and making money, I shelled out for the entire set of all 9 seasons DVDs. I've watched them countless times through the years, even though I know almost every episode. It's like comfort food to me. If the day has been shit or I'm nervous about something I pop one in and it decompresses me. I'm the same way about The Golden Girls to a slightly lesser degree. My mother doesn't get why I watch the same episodes over and over, but something about it cheers me.

I've watched Dermot Morgan and Ardal O'Hanlon's standup, it is quite good. 45 years old and drops dead of a heart attack? How tragic is that, less than 24 hours after they filmed the last show! He didn't look well in that episode.

Ardal is adorable, though, I have a massive thing for him.

Anyone watch Peep Show? We got through all the seasons of that and it only leaves me wanting more.

I remember it when it came out. I didn't read the wiki synopsis, but I think the show was the victime of kind of a high budget with so-so ratings.

My favorite episode was the one with Christoper Lloyd as this despised teacher that a couple students decide to get revenge on. Really fun, creepy episode, with a pretty cool surprise ending.

Laurent-were you like me and really shelled out the dough for them? I paid full price for them because at the time I had no clue what was going to happen with DVD. You can buy them now for less than $20 a season. I also bought the greatest hits VHS tapes before the DVD's came out.

I did that with Bones too in the middle of season 5. Now I hate the show because of what they've done to Brennan. BASTARDS.

Great idea about Northern Exposure! I'll get right on it--SO in the mood for it.

amen. Totally loathe how she just got more and more socially retarded. And we're supposed to believe she's a writer??? Her characters must totally suck.

Yes! And for the same reason, and they used to be crazy expensive too. One of my best friends still has his VHS tapes from when they used to sell them by the episode. I saw the full series of Twin Peaks on sale a few years ago for practically nothing and I kick myself for not buying it then. I wasn't fanatical about the show or movie, but I enjoyed it and thought it was kooky.
