OK, so I'm watching this show for the first time, but know the basic premise. Is it just me, or does the guy that Ugly Betty have a crush on have serious gay face??

I stopped watching it after about 3 or 4 episodes, when I realized that it had the same plot every week. Betty goes to work feeling confident, is ridiculed, screws up or gets herself into a sticky situation which causes her to decide she needs to quit, and is begged not to by someone who tells her how talented and nice she is.

^^Haha, you should be a sitcom writer. I'm sure NBC has some openings.

You're probably right southernbelle, but there's something likeable about it. I can't stand Desperate Housewives, but I just started on Ugly Betty and I like it. So far.

I haven't watched it yet but I've been wanting to get caught up ... I just saw that Katharine McPhee is guest starring the week of Feb. 1 so I'm excited about that!

I know what yall are talking about in regards to how the plot seems to be the same thing over and over again; they have since given more of the other characters depth which gives more plot possibilities. I watched last night and the Hilda/Santos thing was really sad.

I liked it for about 4 consecutive episodes last year, but I always forgot to watch it, or wasn't in the mood. I'm glad they're trying to improve it but I don't think I'll get into it again. Too bad because I really like some of the actors on there.

Apparently James Van Der Beek has been cast in a recurring role this season. If that's true, I'll watch just to see him because I am big fan of Dawson's Creek and of James in general.

Quote:
According to E! Online, Van Der Beek will star as the owner of a fashion house who is troubled by transsexual Mode magazine coeditor Alexis Meade.

A source tells the site, "James Van Der Beek is playing the owner of Atlantic Attire.

"Apparently, he's scheduled to do business with Mode, but he has problems with Alexis being a transsexual."

I DVR'd it so I'll watch it this weekend but now I'm dying to know what happened with Hilda/Santos. I watched a majority of it last year and caught up with the episodes online. It's a pretty funny show but it does seem to get repetitive.

Santos was so effing sexy. Seriously. And I cried when he died.
Love Ugly Betty. Wilhemina's assistant is one of my fave characters. It's just souch a great ensemble cast.
And I love Daniel Meade (Betty's boss). He is so cute.
