The recaps are very touch and go. My favourite all-time recapper remains Omar. I hate the guy doing Dexter though, he's profoundly unfunny.

Omar is a god among recappers. He's the reason I found TWOP in the first place. Haven't really noticed the Dexter dude. Is the same guy doing Battlestar Galactica? You know, the one who writes like he's swallowed a thesaurus and goes on bizarre tangents. He wasn't so bad on BSG but on the Doctor Who recaps I mostly wanted to punch him.

I like lurking there -- but I've posted and been warned b/c I didn't do something right -- whatever. They are very strict and it seems the moderators are very inconsistent.

No, the Thesaurus guy is Jacob, who really isn't as clever as he thinks he is.

Dexter is recapped by Mr Stupidhead...and he's about as witty as his nickname implies.

I know a lot of people post there, but I have never taken the time. Guess that's not a bad thing.

I spoke back once, when they said "don't do this" and I was like "what? Why? It's called conversation" and he's like "do NOT talk back, or you will be banned" and I'm like, in my head, "what is this a fucking pre-school in Czeclovakia?! "Come now children, sit and draw in charcoal, in your pre-schkewel. DO NOT BLINK!!!"

I was actually enfuriated when they banned me after I did nothing else. I had visions in my mind of taking over the boards, or even making my own website called "Television Without Pity Haters Website Without Pity" or something, and gloat my arse of, and if there was ever a mole, I'd get them to become mod under false pretences and then psych their asses off!!!
And then I bought a cat.

I miss the days of "Mighty Big TV." I couldn't WAIT for the Melrose Place recaps! That was the shit.

You're right. It is ridiculous- and its very clear that there are 'cliques' of members in each show board.

TWOP used to be really really funny but its gone downhill lately. That said, I still lurk there all the time for the recaps and certain forums. Since I don't post I don't really get into the drama, I didn't realize all this was going on.

I've only gone there to read reviews of America's Next Top Idiot and they are usually hilarious. Never joind so no idea what the forums are like.

I check their recaps occasionally, but have never joined or posted on their forums. I also used to go to TVGasm for recaps, but a lot of their recappers jumped ship and went to this ite, which I love:

Yep it's pretty clique-y. I drop in sometimes. Post a bit. Mainly I just lurk. Some of the threads fly too fast. You have to read twenty pages to catch up. Also the mods are dictators.

I never post there, I used to go to read the comments on Australia's Biggest Loser. (TBL)

But the vitrriol about a couple of the contestants was too much.

Someone I know via another TBL forum posted that what they were saying on TWOP was worse than anything the contestants were doing. She received a warning.

They are way to fascist for me.

Oh yes I have met high school cheerleaders less cliquey than that board.

I think the TWP boards have a different dynamic depending on the show.

I rather enjoy the Big Love and Battlestar Galactica boards, for instance, while the Veronica Mars boards (now gone, after the cancellation) where not exactly the height of intellectual discussion.

I go there for the reality tv only..maybe that is it..just depends on the show or 'type' of show. I cannot really comment on other non-reality shows. Guess I should qualify my rants with that bit of info.
