Sawyer is just so sexy............ I think i said this before on here... If they take all season to rescue them and find out who the others are, I am going to get tired of it.

Through the Looking Glass
I just realized - does no one watch Lost on here?
If you do - let's discuss last night's finale.

Oooh...I'm game! I've been trying to get on the Fuselage all morning. No one I know watches Lost.
That last flashback was definitely a "Say what?" moment.

See, I'm not convinced it was a flash forward. Do you think the entire flashback was a flash forward and Jack was just high off his tree when he mentioned his father as if he were still alive twice?
I keep thinking that the on-island action that we see is actually Jack/Kate's second time there (at least) and they have no memory of the first.
Or do you think Jack was just daydreaming about how his life would be once he returned home? If so, why would he daydream being an addict and alcoholic who wants to go back to the island?

Apparently according to someone who saw a blow up screen cap of that newspaper Jack had the date was April 7, 2007. I forget the actual date that they said the flight had originally crashed on but it was a couple of years behind us, real time. Also: When Jack pulls up to that funeral home, the name of it is "Hoff/Drawler." This is an anagram for "Flash Foward."
He did mention his father twice, I'm wondering if he's kinda post traumatic stress disordered and stuff.. because nobody responds to him on that first mention of him. Second one, it would have been piss easy for Jack to have gotten one of his dad's old Rx books and written himself off a prescription. When the chemist says she'll have to call his dad's office he kind of goes batshit then storms off.
just my silly thoughts on it..
Also I like how Ben mentioned that if Jack answers the call that it will kill all the living people on the island...as opposed to what? dead people? I wonder why he said that.

OMG that was such an awsome episode, the best episode of season 3 and on par with the pilot episode.
Speaking of the whole Jacks dad issue i think Jack wants to believe/still believes that his dad is still alive so that he can have some sense of what his life was like before the crash considering that he has hit rock bottom when he got off the island.I maybe totally wrong but i think that his dad is dead but Jack wants to believe he is still alive.
I loved the part at the end where Jack said to Kate " we made a mistake we werent supposed to get off the island, we need to go back" or something to that effect -that just blew my mind!!
I was gutted when i heard the 3 gunshots thinking that the 3 guys were dead but soo happy when i found out they werent. And Hurley saving the day in his hippy van was totally insane, so i guess the episode when they actually found the van had some purpose and wasnt just a "filler" episode.
But my heart was in my mouth when Charlie closed the door just as Desmond was running in to talk to Penny. I was like "but...but.... he has to talk to her he just has too, i cant believe he was soo close!!"
Some other things im curious about -
- Who was in the coffin? - when the guy at the funeral palour asked Jack if he was a family member or a friend he said "neither" but he could have possibly said "either".
- Why was Kate angry at Jack for going to the funeral?. It is almost certain judging by what Kate said to Jack that they both knew the person that was in that coffin. Maybe someone that was on the island with them possibly Ben. They both have a reason to hate him after everything he did to the Losties but i think Jack may have gone to the funeral because his realised that Ben was right when he said "you cant leave the island" and was upset because if he had listen to him he wouldnt be so unhappy now. Or could it be John Locke in the coffin? Kate and Jack both have reasons to hate him too, after all he has done everything is his power wreck everything for the Losties while they were on the island.
- Who was Kate talking about she said " I have to go he's gonna be wondering were i am". Could Kate have decided to stick with her choice of Sawyer when she got off the island and make a life with him but still hold something for Jack? Or could she be talking about her son that she had with Sawyer? Remember she could still be preggers on the island, we dont know yet.
- How does Kate get out of prison in the future? wasnt she supposed to be this dangerous criminal on the run?
- Who is Naomi? is she really a bad person like Ben says?
- Whats the deal with Locke? why the hell is he stopping anyone getting off the island?.
- But my biggest question is how many of the Lostie actually make it off the island?, How many of them are still there? It could be possible that Jack, Kate and a few others made it off the island but in doing so had to sacrifice the freedom of other Losties.
I wonder if the next 3 seasons will centre on the Losties trying change the future i.e make different decisions that would make a different ending so that Jack doesnt end up hitting rock bottom?
Ahhh... so many questions but i cant believe we have to wait till next year to find out.Stupid, stupid ABC...WTF were you thinkin??

Yeah, I thought it was a great episode. They are stuck is some type of time loop so it's possible when some are rescued and they get off the island Jack's dad is still alive, but Jack's seems to be out of his mind. It could be all in his mind like when he saw his dad on the beach. He's all drugged up and drunk all the time, I wouldn't be suprised if he turns out to be a mental patient at the hospital rather than a Dr.
I think the guy in the coffin might be Ben and Jack's so upset because he sees Ben as his last chance to find the island again. That's why he is neither friend or family and Kate was sort of disgusted by the thought of going to his funeral. I bet only Claire, Arron, Kate, Jack, Ben and maybe a few other people got rescued. Jack is probably haunted by guilt because of all the people left behind. He kept promising to get them all off the island.
Kate who should be jail looks absolutely stunning- too stunning. The "he" that she was talking about could be someone she works for. Say the same person who keeps Richard looking so young perhaps? She's avoiding jail for murder somehow...
It will be interesting to see if the flashbacks from here on end are from the point they are rescued. it would be a good way to shake things up for season 4.

YES!!!
I totally agree.
Jack was always motivated by guilt in every reported aspect of his life, so it makes sense.

Ooooh - thanks for whoever moved over the thread I started. Sorry, but I couldn't find one about this.
Anywho...LOVED this finale! This was actually one of the best, most satisfying episodes yet. Jack not giving in to Ben and letting the three get shot, and then jumping on him and beating the crap outta him? Loved it! Then Hurley with his van-o-death? Yee-haw! Way to go big boy! And Sawyer shooting Tom "I didn't believe him"? I could hardly contain myself!!!!
I did shed a slight tear when Charlie died. (Although I did think to myself when they shot eye-patch - shoot him in the head and make sure he's dead!) So I knew something was coming. Sorry to see what came down the pipe for Charlie.
As for the coffin, whoever it is, it's someone Kate didn't care about, hence her dismissive tone when he showed her the clipping. I think if it were any of the survivors she would have shown some emotion. That's what makes me think it was Ben or maybe even someone they haven't introduced yet.
And the flash-forward? Color me stupid. I had no idea what was going on until I got a good, clear look at Kate getting out of the car. Go me, huh? What in the world could have happened to them that she wouldn't even care if he called? That was weird.
I kept thinking that everyone was calling Jack a hero for rescuing the car accident lady and kid, but then I realized that it was because of the airplane crash. But why did he keep mentioning his dad as if he were still alive? The drugs and alcohol? That kind of bugged me.
I can't believe I have to wait till February to get some answers.

Yay, I've always wondered why there was no lost thread on here. I loved the finale on Wednesday, it was so good. I'm still driven nuts by the fact that there are never any answers, just more and more questions.
I'm glad the writers finally pulled their shit together because the first half of this season was dredful! I can't wait for next season to start.

i liked the episodes and here are some thoughts/questions
1. Locke doesnt want to get off the island because in real life, he's a paralyzed, sad man. on the island he can walk and has some sort of purpose. he feels it was his destiny to walk again.
2. i think ben was in the coffin-or perhaps someone not introduced yet
3. if the island heals, then why is bens leg never healed? and how come Mikhail doesnt die. he has been electorcuted, shot, spear in him...etc. why doesnt he ever die?!
4. whats up with penelope? she sent the boat for desmond but then she says "what boat?" to charlie. but she received a call about it. could it be an old message? and naomi really was on pennys boat?
