I found a great blog that recaps each episode, if anybody wants to catch up.
Friend Mouse Speaks: <i>True Blood</i> S1E8 (10/26/08)
She does several shows which are categorized in the right column, but True Blood recaps are scattered in the blog archives. Twop recaps are just too damned long, IMO. Even the supposedly short ones.

Last night's episode was crazy. Sex in the graveyard, bi-polar Sookie, Tara's crazy-ass mother, Lafayette and the vampire, Jason and the psycho tree-hugger. And the ending has me counting the days to Sunday.

I just started watching this series all half-assed, I've watched bits and pieces of the last 2, maybe 3 episodes.
So who is the gay vampire guy that got kidnapped by Jason and crazy treehugger bitch? And apparently he's trading his blood for sex with the black gay cook (what's his name?) I'm gonna need to go back and download this from the very beginning. It's getting too interesting to be as lost as I am...

If you have HBO, you can watch every episode OnDemand.
The gay black guy is Lafayette, he's awesome. The gay vampire is just an extra.

Check out surfthechannel.com or sidereel to catch up as well if you dont have HBO-
That is how I am watching the series. Although I have just heard that the UK is finally getting True Blood- it will be shown on FX UK and will be shown sometime early next year. I am just happy that the second season has been confirmed
