I need to see that one again, I hardly remember it. Fun to see Andrew McCarthy, Robert Downey and James Spader as 20 somethings.

Yes, Fast Times at Ridgemont High was one of my favorites. Glad someone mentioned it, though there is some very controversial stuff in the unedited version. Others are 16 Candles, Ferris Bueller's Day off, and more recently, Mean Girls.

    Better Off Dead
    I love John Cusack!

I'd also echo Heathers, Say Anything, Election and Drop Dead Gorgeous from Sputnik's list.

Hahaha I have Drop Dead Fred too!! I love the part where Elizabeth is on a date and Fred makes her look like a total jackass by pouring our her drink and throwing her plate of food. I used to rewind and pause it to capture the horrified/retarded look on her face.

    Scary - no
Drama - as long it is not too heavy for young teens

These suggestions so far have been terrific. They are bringing back memories for me! Some I have never seen so I am excited for myself too!

Yeah, I agree. There were some pretty tough scenes, but that's what I liked about it. It was fairly gritty. There was no sugarcoating. The movie showed a person may eventually die from an overdose if he/she continued doing drugs. The anti-drug message was loud and clear for me. I was a teenager when this movie first came out, and while many of my peers experimented with drugs. I managed to go throughout my adolescence without doing it...not even marijuana. Now smoking cigarettes was another matter.
